Will Texas Republicans Cancel Each Other Out?
02-29-08 | Shenandoah

Posted on 02/29/2008 6:16:37 AM PST by Shenandoah

Dick Morris contends that Hillary would be disastrous for this nation and is encouraging Texas Republicans to cross over on March 5th and vote for Obama. Rush Limbaugh contends that keeping Hillary and Obama running neck and neck would fracture the Democratic Party and is encouraging Texas Republicans to cross over and vote for Hillary.

What if a roughly even number of Texas Republicans in both camps votes for either Hillary or Obama? Nothing will have been accomplished.

Well, the Democrats picked McCain, so we should get the chance to decide for them.

You know, I know that a lot of people here are getting tired of hearing this - but right now, I don't feel anything is going to get accomplished by voting for Obama, Hillary OR McCain.

Same old, same old.......

The real question is this:

If McCain falters and is defeated, would you rather the next president be Clinton or Obama?

Them's exactly my sentiments.

I’m playing to WIN.

We can beat Hillary if the lefty base is angry and resentful because she “stole” the nomination from Obama.

Obama has too many suckers willing to die for him.

I agree. It is really bad when Huckabee turns out to be the most preferable of the bunch (aka, last ones standing). I shudder at the thought of a Senator, professional bloviator, becoming president.

McCain's win or loss could depend on whom he picks as a VP. That could make or break his campaign.

On too many issues, however, McCain has shown little difference from Obama or Clinton. All McCain has been running on is his support for the surge in Iraq. And I don't think that will get him very far in the general election.

Hillary can be defeated.

Obama is followed by a great number of lemmings.

Hopefully, Republicans in Ohio and Texas will ask themselves 2 questions:

1. How many times has Dick Morris ever been right?
2. How many times has Rush ever been wrong?

Texas Republicans cross over to vote for Obama

A poll released this week by SurveyUSA of Verona, N.J., indicated that registered Republicans would make up 9 percent of Democratic primary voters next week

Is that really enough to take down hillary?

Rush has since rethought that idea and now thinks it was a bad idea. It would be better if Obama wins and takes the Clintons out permanently.

"If McCain falters and is defeated, would you rather the next president be Clinton or Obama?"

An important consideration. The Republicans have a talent for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

I would rather he be Obama. He appears to be basically honest and decent, and he's less...shall we say skillful?

But what if she selects him as her VP running mate and he agrees? Won't that mollify his supporters?

OTOH, there may be a special place reserved in hell for Repubs who voted for her in the primary if she actually is able to win in Nov.

How many showers will you have to take if you helped her in any little bit?
