I have to disagree. Some of the younger teachers I’ve had have been the best ones. My business professor, high school history teacher, and economics teacher all prove that point, and quite a few others I could name. As I recall none of them were into students.

The older teachers tended to be less competent except in several cases.

These teachers are young and have grown up in a permissive..no consequences..world. They think they can carry on the same behavior that they did in Hiis Skool..
There were a couple of my teachers in HS that were kind of interesting to a 16 year old guy..but it stayed with flirting.

I understand, and your point is well taken. You're probably much younger than I. In my yute, we had no young teachers, male or female. They were not elderly, rather they were mature in their high 30's to 50's, including the sports coaches. And they were brilliant teachers and motivaters.

I was lucky to grow up in a stellar Chicago suburb, Oak Park, which placed and still does place great emphasis on education for the chillun of the village. Teachers at all the public grammar and high schools are carefully chosen. Discipline is enforced.

A superbly-educated Ernest Hemingway graduated from my high school....of course, he was much older than I, LOL.
