Congrats to both the Pats fans and the Giants fans! Your teams made it to the big game and both played well. We can’t ask for more than a last minute win in such a big game!

Did you see that ESPN commercial with the Manning Brothers acting like, well, younger brothers?

Brady has three rings and chances for more later.

Unless he does something even more incredible in the future than he has done in the past, he will be remembered for choking in a Superbowl against a team of scrappy wild card underdogs whom he and his team were highly favored to not only defeat but defeat handily.

None of his Superbowl wins were nearly as memorable as this humiliating defeat. The final plays of this Superbowl will played again and again and again on highlight reels for the foreseeable future. Vinatieri field goals will never have the same emotional resonance as Burress' touchdown.

The only thing that can repair his narrative is to, at some point in the future, engineer a dramatic come-from-behind victory in a Superbowl as the quarterback of an underdog team.

Full disclosure: I am not a Giants fan.

Wild Card Superbowl Winners
Wild Card teams that have won Super Bowl are

1980 NFL Season the Oakland Raiders won Super Bowl XV

1997 NFL Season the Denver Broncos won Super Bowl XXXII

2000 NFL Season the Baltimore Ravens won Super Bowl XXXV

2005 NFL Season the Pittsburgh Steelers won Super Bowl XL

2007 NFL Season the New York Giants won Super Bowl XLII

In other words, wild card teams are 5 for 37 in the Superbowl.

Doesn't do too much to erase the sting of the Patriots' loss.

Add to the ignominy of this defeat the fact that Belichick revealed, yet again, that he has no class.

He embarrassed himself and his team yesterday even more than was necessary.

The Bill Clinton of the NFL.

OK, so I wasn’t the only one who missed it.

We'll see. Whatever happens, nobody can take those three rings away from Brady and for at least the first Super Bowl, the Patriots played the role of the "scrappy, overachieving team."

As a Pats fan, I have no hard feelings about last night's game. Giants deserved to win (and they probably should have won in Week 17 as well).

That's what makes the NFL so compelling to watch. The dominant teams always get beat sooner or later.

Looks like the Pats have some work to do in the offseason.
