What the Giants have done has to be one of the most remarkable football achievements Ive seen. They were a 5th seed wildcard team and win every playoff game on the road, going through Dallas, Green Bay, and then eventually beating an undefeated team in the Super Bowl. Very impressive! They kept getting better as the season went on, and gave the Pats a good scare in that last regular-season game. They really developed into a strong second-half-of-the-game team.
Gotta say though, on that drive where the Pats went ahead, the defense looked done. They were a bunch of tired puppies at that point - you could see the linemen all trying to get some air. Giants offense came back on the field, put together a nice drive to score the eventual game-winner, and by that time the D had a chance to recuperate and was able to come up with the big plays when they needed to.
All this Giants fan can say is... Wow. I figured they'd give 'em a good game, but... Wow. Lots of fireworks popping and horns honking in my NJ neighborhood tonight!

LMAO My sentiments, exactly. From a lifelong 'Skins fan, to the New Yawk Giants - you fookin' RULE!!!!!!The other two times the Giants won the Supre Bowl, the Redskins won it the following year -- by beating teh opponents the Giants had beaten the year before.

Except for Strahan, Feagles, and Toomer, the Giants are a young football team.

I thought Manning showed guts, grit, and determination. I thought he decided that he was winning, like Simms 21 years ago, and made sure his team didn’t disappoint. He earned the MVP.
Not that any of the defensive players couldn’t hvae been deserving — especially Umenyiora or possibly Sam Madison, who quietly had a great ballgame.

I believe Hutch said on Rush’s show that if they could get to Brady 3 or more times, they had a good chance of winning.

I thought the clock actually counted down to 00:00, then they put a second back on. At least Howie and Terry thought so too. Yeah, like Howie and Terry can count to 1.

A guy who works with my husband has been bragging about the Patriots since last July so I must say that tonight’s win has been especially great! Bragging tends to have poor consequences...

Not to pile on, but I do have to concur. Belichick's conduct in the final second of the game should earn him a right proper reaming from the NFL commissioner. She-it. Roger Goodell is Bob Kraft's sock puppet.

Ahem that is a little harsh, Terry can count to four with his Super Bowl rings :)

Actually, I like Bradshaw a lot. He was a great player, and one of the more fun guys to watch commentate. I still haven’t forgiven him for “Failure to Launch.”

I was STUNNED at the no calls on those sack evasions. The defenders were being held from behind. Amazing how Eli got away. Eli was nearly intercepted twice during that drive, and the game would have been over. I’ll bet the Patriots will relive those moments quite a bit during the off-season. And the Patriots’ offensive line oughtta relive some completely missed blocks AND offsides penalties as well. They were off their game. Big time. (this is when I hear my mother’s voice talking about how all games are fixed blah, blah, blah. some smart gamblers are happy tonight.)
Congrats to the Giants for a very hard fought game. They wanted it more, and they got it. The Patriots were outplayed. And congrats to the MS Mannings!
