I’ve had one for 7 years and love mine. Tend to sleep more deeply on one than a regular bed, plus you can individually set how firm you want your bed. They are over priced for essentually an airmatress.
Also, check out www.SleepyTimeToeTent.Com
I have one and it is very nice. The only bad thing about one that has two air bags in it (so you can have a different setting one each side) is the sag it can have in the middle. It’s not too bad, but I find myself rolling into it sometimes. I would suggest thinning about getting one that has only one air bag.
A pilot my husband flew with had one. He and his wife developed health problems from fumes as it had not adequately been aired out after manufacturing.
Love it, and well worth the price. These beds don’t wear out over time. Mine is just as good 7 years later as the day I bought it.
I also agree with the poster below that it is better with a single chamber mattress. The dual chamber has an annoying divider in the middle. I purchased a dual chamber, but quickly ordered a single chamber mattress to replace it.
I have been interested in a Tempur-Pedic mattress, anyone got an opinion on these.
I was wondering the same thing and a few weeks ago I found a forum that had a majority of posts that said they never could find their comfort number.
One poster said he bought his from a now ex friend who was a sales person for the mattress.
The foam around it was defective on one side which made it slump on that side and the company would not fix or replace it (brand new) they suggested he stuff a piece of foam in the area.
I decided for the price after reading all those negative posts no way for me. JMO

i prefer a hard mattress with a slight pillow top
have a Sealy Azalea series....very firm with a bit of give/spring
i love it...
mattresses are sorta personal taste
in NYC i had a foam rubber mattress platform bed .......hard....like a Samurai bed
My father bought one after hearing me brag about mine.
He didn't like his and went back to standard mattress.
I guess the main thing is to test one and see if the 100 setting is firm enough for your likes if you like firmness.
We have a dual zone queen size and love it, an awesome product. Had it for 6 years. Don’t forget to get the heated matress pad if you live where it’s cold.
We have a sleep number in our house and one in our RV. We like them. I especially like the twin mattresses as it keeps down the motion when hubby rolls over and I think I sleep better because of it. We haven’t had sinking in the middle problems, although I’ve heard of them.
sleepnumber usually allows a 30 day trial offer, although your special discount model might have something different....I’d think sleepnumber would honor it as brand new though.
BTW, when we did contact sleepnumber once on a mild issue, we found them very helpful and supportive.
good luck
We have one, with no serious complaints. I do find that both chambers tend to lose pressure over time, so once a week that has to be fixed. But for sleeping—there is no bed that’s nearly as good. I like the fact that the number can be changed—sometimes I’m a 35, sometimes a 55. So easy to change, and I couldn’t do that with a regular mattress.
And speaking of regular mattresses—just 6 months before we bought the Sleep Number, we bought a high-end name brand for almost the same price. THAT mattress was awful—started out fine, but within one month, dents appeared, and you can’t turn these turkeys over as we used to do with the old style mattresses. We did get a refund (not full, just partial), but we’ll NEVER buy a standard mattress again, until and unless they make them so that they can be turned.
So yes, we really like the Sleep Number. Sure beats everything else.
Thanks for posting this. We’re considering a “Sleep Number” bed as well.
My wife was pregnant with number 8 a few years ago and I thought I would get one for her to assist her sleep. I searched on the net and found American National Manufacturing on a search. I bought a bed from them for about a 1/3 the price of the sleep number. They provide a knock-off equivalent bed. Have had no problems with the bed and we love it. Good luck.
We’ve had ours since ‘96. We’ll never own anything different. Our kids & grandkids are always trying to get us to give it to them and buy a new one. They can eat dirt.
We’ve stayed in hotels and nearly been crippled by their lousy mattresses so we put one in our motorhome too.
I sleep on the floor, tell me about these things called mattresses.
I’ve had one for five years love it.
Couldn’t stand the king-size water bed, so I took out the bladders, went to WalMart and bought two Coleman camping mattresses at $20 each and stuffed ‘em into the soft-side casing and pillow-topped shell of the water bed. Three years later, still loving it!
