Longtime Scientologist Nancy Cartwright, also known as the voice of Bart Simpson, last year gave the church $10 million to help spread the word of founder L. Ron Hubbard into other galaxies. It was all part of Scientologys Global Salvage effort, which aims to de-aberrate Earth, meaning to rid mankind of psychology ills and other aberrant behavior. Surprisingly, Nancy, 50, forked over twice as much as the Scientologys most prominent member, Tom Cruise, who only gave $5 million in an installment plan. Also, recent Scientology publications reveal that a host of A-list Scientologists were honored for their generosity at a black-tie awards ceremony at the churchs headquarters in Clearwater, Fla., last summer. Here are some of the celeb gifts from 2007 and their corresponding rewards:
* Nancy Cartwright, 50, Patron Laureate Award: $10 million. * Kirstie Alley, 57, Diamond Meritorious Award: $5 million. * John Travolta, 53, Gold Meritorious Award: $1 million. * Kelly Preston, 45, Gold Meritorious Award: $1 million. * Priscilla Presley, 62, Patron Award: $50,000.
Nancy, like her fellow principal cast members on The Simpsons, has reportedly been earning $250,000 per episode since 2004, when her salary was upped from $125,000 per episode. At 22 episodes per season, that makes for an annual paycheck of $5.5 million. So, she gave the Church 2 years salary? Mmm!!
She wishes to rid other galaxies of "The Force?"
That book was turned into a film by John Travolta, a Scientologist.
I suppose a thin layer of excrement could be considered a film. Though Battlefield Earth was far more than a thin layer.
Guess that’s why you’ll never see Scientology mocked on The Simpsons.
When South Park did it, Isaac Hayes (a Scientologist) left the show.
Her religion/belief system isn’t trying to kill me, so no biggie. It’s her money.
