2007, Tiger Stadium, LSU 28 Florida 24
we don't talk about the 2008 game in the swamp.... (((((shudder))))))
Two strong football programs, two fine coaches, two SEC teams, two top five ranked teams. All the components for a great game.
That same bowl season, the Gators struggled to make it a game against UM.
Go figure..........
Right! Tough game, lots of gutsy calls, our starting QB didn’t have a good game, Tebow did but still LSU/Coach Miles found a way to win.
Must be Darks fault somehow: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/2355652/posts
Tebow progressing, but hasnt practiced.Health update: Florida quarterback Tim Tebow is reading, watching television, attending class, studying film and doing just about everything else he was before his concussion--except practicing. Florida coach Urban Meyer says his star player has not been cleared to return to the field or play against No. 4 LSU on Saturday night. But Meyer says the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner is no longer dealing with post-concussion symptoms. "From what I understand, there's no symptoms and I think he's cleared to act like Tim Tebow," Meyer says. "Everything but practice right now. I know he's allowed to watch TV. Earlier in the week he wasn't allowed to do anything focused. I guess that's normal protocol. And then after a week they acclimate." Tebow didn't attend any of Florida's practices last week, and Meyer says he wasn't sure whether Tebow would return this week. Meyer also says Tebow still could play if he got cleared late in the week. "I can't answer that," Meyer says. "Can Tim play quarterback at Florida against a very good defense without practicing? I don't know that. It's going to be as we move on." The Gators (4-0) planned to practice today with third-year sophomore John Brantley taking most of the repetitions at quarterback.
Scott named SEC offensive player of the week
LSU running back Charles Scott has been named Southeastern Conference offensive player of the week for his performance Saturday in the Tigers 20-13 victory over Georgia. Scott, a senior from Saline, had 19 carries for a season-high of 95 yards, two touchdowns and one catch for 15 yards. Scotts touchdown runs came in the final three minutes as LSU overcame two fourth-quarter deficits for its first victory in Athens, Ga., since 1987. His first TD came on a 2-yard plunge that gave the Tigers a 12-7 lead with 2:53 remaining, and his second score came on a 33-yard run that put them ahead to stay at 20-13 with less a minute to play.
Scott is the third Tiger to win SEC individual player honors this season: Rahim Alem, a defensive end, was named defensive player of the week for his performance in the Vanderbilt game, while Chad Jones was named special teams player of the week for the Mississippi State game.
CBS will broadcast from Tiger Stadium Saturday night and ESPN will be in town for Game Day.
Rematch forecast: If the ESPN.com projections are correct, then LSU will be spending the new year in Florida. Writer Mark Schlabach picks the Tigers to play Iowa in the Capital One Bowl in Orlandoa rematch of the 2005 game in which the Hawkeyes won 30-25 on a Hail Mary in the games final play. Meanwhile, writer Bruce Feldman picks LSU to play Wisconsin in the Outback Bowl in Tampa
*Shrugs*
Of the good SEC teams, this is the one that UM has not yet played. The bowl people would make a big deal out of them playing, since most inside people believe that Lloyd Carr, when he left, made it impossible for Les to come home.
Uh-huh. I remember all that stuff. But, uh, Coach Miles calls LSU home now. :) As do his wife and children. They have assimilated. LOL
Methinks a great deal for all concerned.
g’night. :)
NOT my fault, I swear it.
“You may now bite the bride.”
And it's Stihl true today.

Seriously, two words for Tim and Coach Meyer, Mohammed Ali.
The field will be leveled a bit without their star but Florida is still a formidable team regardless of who is under center.
Tigers shouldn't lose............they should maul...........
Drats.
Sorry about that.
But, if (as is likely) the other tiggers go down to the Crocagators this Saturday, Darlin might not be as cordial..........
:-)
FOFLOL. I’m always cordial. Wouldn’t dream of behaving any other way.
You’d think that being from Ohio, I’d be a Cleveland engines fan.
*hurk*
But the DT’s have been underdogs for so long, you just can’t help but feel sorry for them.
:-)
