Drats.
He has a complete toolbox AND a standing army of 8 brand new familial additions.
Sounds like my ex...
Flamethrower? (Lamethrower? that too.)
Check.
Brass nippers?
Check.
Giant overwhelming sense of doom projector?
In spades.
Yeah, exes are like that.
The upside is that as a result I've had time for a delicious lunch with a good friend, then help another one shop for new appliances for her kitchen re-do and enjoy listenting to a news Joe Cocker single called, Hymn for my Soul. I'd probably describe myself as a moderate or sometime fan of his but this one is his best in years and years.
sigh
Sounds like you had a wonderful day, Darlin’....good for you! We all need a break from the news every so often. At least I know I do.
Joe Cocker? Really? Every time I see him (I admit, it’s been a few years) I want to shout “Take your meds already, you spaz!”
Has he changed recently?
[Best Eddy Haskel voice] ‘Morning Mrs. Cleaver, how’s the Beaver?
Lol! The beav is doin’ fine, Nutly, other than the fact that we’re having eight people over for dinner and an amateur rock festival tomorrow and I have to do all the cooking. You’re invited too if you bring your kazoo. I wonder if Sweets or Gran can play the drums.....
FOFLOL. I don't think so, just mellowed a little. :) Still, despite arms that flail and fling all around his oddly shaped body, its hard not to like songs like, Up Where We Belong, You Are so Beautiful or Unchain My Heart. I'm not so sure his latest release is all that new but its new to me and I really like it.
Yeah, I know all those songs except the last one. Good ones, too! I’ll listen to him sing, but please don’t make me watch. :)
We have sixteen here tonight...............
Could you count that high?
All I can say is you better be helping with the cooking, Lame.
And you’ll be missing out on my yummy tater salad and barbequed chicken sandwiches....bummer for you!:P
I bet all you old fogies are real good at playing the spoons.....party on, Grampa. *double :P*
:-)
So how did the old wimmins' reading group go after they pureed the Happy Meals for you?
I bet you had fun all the way till they came and put you back in your rooms.......
Heh heh heh......
Awww, Grampy is sore cuz I won’t share my tater salad with him. It’s kinda cute to see a grown man throw a tantrum.
Deep breaths, Lame, deep breaths.....you okay now? :)
No way can you put a damper on my day, Gramps. One of the couples coming over has the sweetest, most adorable two-year-old girl on the planet and I get to play Gramma for a day. She and I are just two peas in a pod. We both love to swing and play kickball. You’d never be able to keep up with us and besides, you’d miss your naptime and we all know how cranky you get when you miss your nap. :P
What else is better than helping little old mascots such as yourself enjoy themselves with their Happy Meals?
As a charter member of "Mascot Helpers Anonymous" I am dedicated to helping make the twins lugh and have fun.
I know how you love to pick on me, Grampy, and I’m a more-than-willing target for your jabs. You always make me lugh.......even when you’re cranky. :)
We had barbecued chicken (home made sauce), pesto salad, mashed potatoes, tossed salad, great deserts, and great wine. All out on the deck with its lovely view of a fine sunset over the water.
This happens once a week, and is great fun. Of course, you could bring some tater salad if you'd like.........but I'd have to explain who the furry new neighbor was.......
:-)
