I know I’m not looking forward to this election. Scary stuff!
To: derllak
Yep. Its depressing. I wish all those “real” conservatives had seriously contemplated the possibility of this situation when they were spreading primary votes among a bunch of loser candidates.

Here is the eastern side of one of the mountains behind our house, where we take walks through these meadows up to beaver ponds.

spreading primary votes among a bunch of loser candidatesWell, I wish we would have had a not loser candidate, but who would that have been?
We seem stuck with a revolting choice right now. McCain is simply the least revolting (my take).
Like SL said, I will have to drug up big time just to vote this year.......

No matter where I am,...Im considered a Flat-lander.I've been in New Hampsha. It ain't flat.
I've been in Floriduh. You are a flat-lander for only 6 or so months, honeycakes. Now that's flat there........you know flatness rules when every overpass is the highest point in your state.....

Lovely. What kind of trees are those, not Aspen I suppose? We drove thru some country yesterday. Well, well settled country and wealthy peoples estate country, if you get my draft?
I’ll have to go and take some pics of this area when I can. It is soooo New Hampshire, small wealthy town-like. I just love it there. Horse farms, rolling pastures, gorgeous homes. Sighhhh....I don’t get out enough. ;)

Well, my little Chick-a-dee, I was born in MA and we are considered flat-landers to these folks up in NH. Wouldn’t matter if I was born in the mountains of MA. Al, of course, is a native NH “Hick”. ;)
Wait until you hit your seventies young-un, you just may enjoy that flat land. It’s a lot easier on your knees and hips. :^O

The gray trees against the white snow are aspens, and there aspens all around, but those are more ash and maple trees there. The caterpillars infest those trees in the summer, and when you stretch your tarp by a stream to have a picnic, they drop by the dozens to join you. I'm glad I have a wife who isn't squeamish.
We have had such a delightful slow transition from spring to summer this year you can go to the base of the snow drifts, and three inches from the snow the flowers are blooming, tiny ones in white, yellow, and purple. They put up a few leaves and a blossom right in the water as soon as the snow melts, and the ground is polka-dotted with life where the snow recedes.
We had fun with two jays who were visiting us at our campsite in the snow, looking for peanuts, cracker chips, bread crumbs, and when I finally opened a packet of oatmeal they loved the stuff, but it wasn't what they could put in their beaks and hide for another day. They had to stay and eat, beautiful smart birds, Canadian gray jay.

Wow, that’s gorgeous. That’s the view from behind your house?
I could never get tired of scenery like that. Very nice!
To: Lakeshark
Well, we beaves are rather picky about where we make our homes.
Only the choicest of places will do. You don’t have any beaver ponds near your house, now do you? :P
