"Ruh-roh, you kind of predicted this with the LSU QB: "

Yep. It was inevitable. Coach Miles gave him every chance in the world. In fact, on Friday, the day this became public, Coach was on the phone all that day, trying to find another team for him. He is a talented player but he is also an arrogant punk who seems unable to function responsibly in the real world and doesn't show any desire to behave like an adult. The news is never good about him, the last I heard, he is still under investigation by the Feds for something or the other, his girlfriend is pregnant, etc.

Perrilloux's behavior has long been the topic of conversation around town and certainly hasn't made him any friends. So, naturally, his dismissal was a topic of conversation at every event and party all weekend. Local opinion polls were running in favor of Coach Miles decision by about 75-78%.

The dark side of giving young athletes with talent too much adulation from grade school on, and rarely giving the correction they deserve..........

Glad to hear that you're doing better. I agree, when the weather improves, my spirits lift. :) I'm sorry to hear that your job has been insane.. or more insane than usual. Honestly, I so much appreciate that you do what you do, I couldn't and I don't know how you do it every day.

Ex-Gitmo prisoner commits suicide attack
Iraqi security forces were the apparent target in last week's blast
The Associated Press, Wed., May. 7, 2008

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - The U.S. military confirmed Wednesday that a former Guantanamo detainee from Kuwait carried out a recent suicide attack in northern Iraq.

A spokesman for U.S. military's Central Command told The Associated Press that Abdallah Salih al-Ajmi took part in an attack in Mosul.

U.S. Navy Cmdr. Scott Rye said authorities don't know the motive for the attack, which was reported last week by Dubai-based Al-Arabiya television. Iraqi security forces were apparently targeted.

The U.S. transferred al-Ajmi to Kuwaiti custody from Guantanamo in 2005. A Kuwaiti court later acquitted him of terrorism charges.

We’ve been having truly fabulous weather. A real, full Spring season for a change. We usually have about two weeks of winter, then about the same for springtime and then straight to the hot and steamy stuff. :)

A far more interesting explanation than saying it was a coincidence I logged on just after you posted.

I can’t decided if the White House has simply done a superb job of keeping a lid on all the details of Jenna’s wedding this weekend, or if the press is just pretending it isn’t happening. I mean, after all, a traditional, quiet, family wedding just isn’t in keeping with the gaudy weddings the celebrity press gushes over. And, a respectable, religious ceremony with real vows out of the public eye is not the sort of event they had hoped the Bad Boy Prez’s Bad Girl might have.

"The dark side of giving young athletes with talent too much adulation from grade school on, and rarely giving the correction they deserve.......... "

No one tried to help him any more than Coach Miles. Hes dtill trying to help him. The talk around town is that he (Perrilloux) is about to take a big step down from a big sports program like LSU to a much smaller program with no scholarships.

Jacksonville State considers Perrilloux

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. — Jacksonville State coach Jack Crowe has spoken to the family of former LSU quarterback Ryan Perrilloux about a possible transfer to a Football Championship Subdivision team with no scholarship quarterbacks on the roster.

Crowe said Tuesday he also had a discussion with LSU coach Les Miles, who kicked Perrilloux off the defending national championship team after repeated off-the-field problems.

“Les was very kind to spend quite a bit of time explaining the situation to me,” Crowe said. “He’s very optimistic about him being a successful player and a successful student-athlete.”
