The New York Giants will meet the New England Patriots in the 2008 Super Bowl to be played Feb. 3 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
The Giants became NFC champs Sunday night after beating the Green Bay Packers in overtime 23-20.
The unbeatened Patriots (18-0) claimed the AFC championship earlier by defeating the San Diego Chargers 21-12.
There are some Giants fans in New England who go back to
the days before the Patriots...
Boston (-area) vs. NY (well, tech they play in NJ).
Rivalry in Super Bowl!
Amen to that. GO GIANTS!!!!!
Politics and sports . . . power is moving to the northeast.
I agree.
Lets go Giants. Manning win one for Archie.
Two brothers to win S/B back to back would be great.
I go back to when our team was called the BOSTON Patriots:)
Of course, Hillary has ALWAYS been a Giants fan............
..and played at places like Fenway.
Congrats to the Pats and the Giants. Great games.
For a native Texas who loves the Redskins and hates the Cowboys, wanted the Packers to win it, is sick of the Patriots and the Colts, never liked the Giants - the Super Bowl looks to be extraordinarily dull this year. sigh.
I guess I want the Patriots to lose (again and again) more than I am apathetic towards the Giants. go Giants. whatever.
I dunno. Arguably the most exciting game of the regular season was when the Pats beat the Giants 38-35.
This was one of the greatest games ever played. IMHO.
It would be great if the Super Bowl turns out to be as good as the game they played a few weeks ago.
The last times the SB was a rematch of regular season game:
1999, Tennessee Titans defeated the St Louis Rams 24-21 only to lose in the super bowl 23-16.
1993, Buffalo Bills defeated the Dallas Cowboys 13-10 only to lose in the super bowl 30-13.
1990,Buffalo Bills defeated the NY Giants 17-13 only to lose in the super bowl 20-19.
1986,NY Giants defeated the Denver Broncos 19-16, beat the Broncos in the super bowl 39-20.
1985,Chicago Bears defeated the New England Patriots 20-7, beat the Patriots in the super bowl 46-10.
1983,Washington Redskins defeated the LA Raiders 37-35, only to lose in the super bowl 38-9.
1980,Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Oakland Raiders 10-7, only to lose in the super bowl 27-10.
GO BIG BLUE!!!
You know, the Giants couldn’t beat the Buccanners, the Cowboys, or the Packers, but they did. Remember that in week 17 Big Blue came within 3 points — 3 lousy points! — of Belichek’s boys. But for a couple of questionable calls, they might have won that game. And the team you don’t want to face at playoff time is the hot team.
The Pats are awfully good, but if anyone can derail them, I think this would be the team to do it.
Congratulations to the NFC Champion New York Giants. On to Arizona for Super Bowl XLII.
GO BIG BLUE!!!
Same here. It stinks that the Pack couldn’t get there for Brett, but the better team won. And Eli is growing up in front of us. To go through 3 playoff games without any turnovers is a great feat that we and the Patriots need to take notice of.
GO PATRIOTS!
Brady will flash his three rings in Manning’s face and he’ll go all giggly.Pats by 21!
