Perfect season, but even with that, I don’t think people look at that Dolphin team and say, they could beat some other Superbowl winners, that they are better than Pittsburgh was in their glory, or one of the San Francisco teams, but maybe they could too. They are all champs, including all of the teams who won the NFL (and maybe the AFL too) before there was a Superbowl.
I don’t really like the Pats, but I can live with whatever happens and not be upset at it.

I grew up in New England.
The Patriots used to be the keystone cops of the NFL.
I remember 1972. I was 15.
I look at it like this.
They are playing this year to regain their honor.
What should they have done? Given up? Gone home?
They made a mistake, took the punishment and turned their shame into one hell of a season so far.
I can think of worse ways to try to handle it.
Shula said that too, months ago. I thought he changed his tune not too long ago and accepted it. He’s totally changed his position I thought.
That’s true, it’s the same team and then again, in some ways it doesn’t seem to be the same team.

Babe Parilli, Nick Buonicontti too, I think was a Patriot. He may have been on that Dolphin team as well.
I don’t know if the Pats played in the weakest division with the Bills, Jets and Miami but it wasn’t a real strong one either.
I am not a big fan of the Pats and hope the Packers kick the crap out of them in the Super Bowl. However, what that team and Tom Brady have done this season is remarkable, in that they have put the best team ever on the field.
There’s no way one can say they are better than other teams, Sid Luckman and the Bears beating the Redskins for the NFL championship in 1940 I think 73-0, the Lombardi Green Bay dynasty and the Bradshaw years in Pittsburgh. I don’t think so, unless the Pats defeat their opposition by more than 73 in the championship game then we can say they are better than the 1940 Chicago Bears, the greatest team ever.

The best team I ever saw were the Steelers around 1979. They might be able to beat the Pats but the game has changes so much, become more complex that that that dimwit Bradshaw would be perplexed by today’s game.

Are the Patriots cheating now? If so, why can’t anyone catch them? If not, why are they beating the snot out of every team they face?
I wouldn’t bet the mortgage on that.
And let’s not forget when the NFC was defeating the AFC all the time in the Superbowl, in the ‘80s and into the ‘90s, they were often beating them bad, didn’t Denver really get stomped by the Niners and the Giants in fact just for a case in point. It’s not easy to see these teams faltering against any opposition.
The Snake and the Raiders, too many good teams have been up there.
It is hard to compare teams of different eras. All you can say is that the Patriots are the best team of this young new millennium. Packers in the ‘60’s, Steelers in the ‘70’s, Montana’s 49ers... lots of good teams from different decades...
I expect an outstanding NFC title game.
People forget the fact that the '72 Dolphins won most of their games with their backup quarterback, Earl Morall. They claimed him on waivers for $100 bucks.
Talk about a steal.
Easterbrook repeatedly tried to get a straight answer out of him whether they had uncovered evidence that the Patriots had pulled their cheating schemes in the Super Bowl (against the Eagles). The NFL representative simply would not give Easterbrook a straightforward "yes" or "no" answer.
In later years, players like Joe Greene and L.C. Greenwood were on the decline.
