I asked the same question in 3778.

One hurt in car-semi collision
The battered remains of a 2003 Ford Mustang rest in the middle of the highway as first responders tend to its driver, Amanda L. Overmyer, 23, Frankfort. At about 9:30 a.m. Monday, Overmyer was reportedly heading south on 18th Street. As she attempted to cross U.S. 24/U.S. 35, her car was struck by a westbound semi driven by Timothy W. Pierce, 49, Huntsville, N.Y. Pierce reportedly applied the brakes and swerved but could not avoid the collision. The semi skidded another 282 feet. Overmyer was unconscious when police arrived, according to the accident report. At the Memorial Hospital emergency room, she told police she did not remember what happened. Because of a head injury, she was airlifted to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, where she was later released.

By the way, most of us were commenting that AI should bring forward all the experience that each contestant has. They are eighter looking for UNdiscovered talent or they aren’t. REdiscovered talent is another thing.
Wow! They showed a picture of her car totalled on the show, but they didn’t say anything about her being air lifted away from the scene! She is very lucky.
I remembered the air lifting, but didn’t hear them mention the semi.
OK that’s creepy
I really wish tractorboy had been put through. Only heard him in the first audition but I liked his sound. Some of these people already had a chance & blew it.
Hi Jonny. Thanks for the pings and thread. My favorites so far are Michael Johns and David Archuletta. I haven’t seen all 24, but checked out their bios on the idolonfox.com site. There are some really pretty girls this year and some hot looking guys. I wonder if Luke Menard is related to the famous Menard auto racing family. His bio doesn’t say.
The only one on that list above that wasn't a topic of conversation on the show was Carrie's pre-Idol recordings. Everything else was mentioned on-air or on the web bios.
The rules of the competition are that you can't currently be under contract to a record label.
That said, I do take into consideration that someone in their late 20's who has been under contract before likely has a flaw or two that will show up as the competition goes on. That is, they didn't "make it" before for a reason. It is, of course, possible that they've learned and "grown" from the experience, though.
Someone up thread said Luke’s dad cleaned their carpets, so probably a different Menard. LOL!
That’s a great group pic!
They are all easy on the eyes.
I guess the producers learned a thing or two since last season.

? - he looks like an actor, but I can't figure out who

- not sure about this one
- I'm stumped on her too

she's hard to figure...

I don't know on her either...

Are you by chance catching the reality show on CMT - Gone Country?
Known for pushing the limits of mainstream country music with the genre-bending MuzikMafia, John Rich, of the hit country duo Big & Rich, takes on his biggest challenge yet. He takes seven established performers from every realm of the entertainment and music industries and immerses them in all things country for a chance to break out as the next big country superstar. The one who is most successful at crossing over by the end of the series will have a country single produced by Rich.
The series features an eclectic cast of performers including:
Bobby Brown — R&B singer, former member of New Edition
Carnie Wilson — singer-songwriter, former member of Wilson Phillips and author
Dee Snider — radio personality, lead singer Twisted Sister
Diana DeGarmo — recording artist, Broadway actor and 2004 American Idol finalist
Julio Iglesias Jr. — pop singer
Maureen McCormick — singer-actor, The Brady Bunch
Sisqó — R&B singer, former member of the group Dru Hill
Gone Country uproots these seven musical celebrities and moves them into a Nashville mansion together to embark on a two-week adventure, hosted by singer-songwriter John Rich. Each celebrity will be paired up with some of Nashville’s finest songwriters in an attempt to prepare them for a career in country music. In each episode, the cast competes against each other in challenges that will test them musically and physically to adapt to a country music lifestyle, both on and off the stage. At the end of the two weeks, the artist who is most prepared to impress a country audience, as determined by Rich, will record and release a song.
LOL! I’m glad you saved all your graphics from previous seasons. I always get a kick out of them!
I’m hoping they’ll have to cut the albino looking blonde guy, with the nasty hairdo, so the governor can get back in...I thought he was so much better.
And what’s with all the “shaggy” hair do’s? That look is SO not in and makes a guy look like he styled his hair with a pillow for 8 hours. WTF are they thinking when they do that to their hair?
I'm with you. I'd at least liked to have had the chance to hear him on another song, then we'd at least know why he didn't make it. Was he too country?
Might have been because he was just doing a George Strait imitation.
From what little I’ve seen of that show, I’d say DeGarmo is the only one with much chance of doing anything good. Not sure that means she’s going to win though.
Never checked it out, but I may have to next time I see it on.
