Yes! Goodbye to the wailing wimp.

I'm glad I don't have to post that wuss' picture.

The photographer wouldn't get him to stop crying long enough to take a decent photo ;)

You missed her then because she was HORRIBLE!!! She probably made hundreds if not thousands if not millions of girls run out and lose their virginity after witnessing her trainwreck...lol. Sorry that was mean but could be accurate.

LMAO! "I've got to lose my virginity so I can sing better!"

Now that we’re down to 24 I think they should give us more background info on each one, like which ones have had recording contracts. Those would be the first to be voted off in my book.

Amanda looks 35, not 24. Simon pegged her when he said he knows how every song will sound with her. She won’t make the Top 10.

He’s adorable! He better be able to sing and not just be eye candy. Last year all we had was Nosferatu and that really wasn’t much.

Is that one competing with the women or men? Seriously, if you are a flaming gay, I don’t think you should compete with men.

I don’t think I ever saw him sing. I think there are about a half dozen of the Top 24 that I’ve never seen and I’ve watched every show this year.

I know but I think AI should disclose it on the show. Full disclosure is best.

Absolutely!!! I hate the fact that they chose semi professionals...ok first time losers (lol) to be in this American Idol, but I think that they are trying everything in their power to not repeat last year (which I did not think was that bad).

Carly Smithson is my personal root-against. It's nothing personal toward the heavily tattooed Irish lass. She's a fine singer and seems to be a nice person. But she's also a ringer of sorts. Under the name Carly Hennessy, she once had a major recording contract and her first album supposedly was backed with a $2 million promotional campaign. It reportedly sold about 300 copies.

Found this to add to the list.

Carly is not an exception this year.

Michael Johns is another notable contestant. An Australian import, he was formerly the lead singer of a band called The Rising and a band called Film. He also changed his name from Michael Lee. Michael was signed to Maverick Records with Film, and they were supposed to release a debut album in 2003. But according to one of the group members, Michael allegedly screwed over Film by leaving the band and stealing their songs, claiming he wrote them. This guy sounds like a real winner. I wonder why he isn’t already famous?

It doesn’t stop there. Here are some more has-beens who have failed at becoming famous yet snuck their way onto the show:

Kristy Lee Cook was signed to Arista Nashville, had Britney Spears lined up to appear in her debut video in 2001, and is managed by Marty Rendleman, who previously managed Leann Rimes. She also apparently loves to alienate most of America by singing in front of a Confederate flag in a video. Looks like her connections may not help her after all...

Jason Castro was on the television show Cheyenne and played the love interest of the main character.

Robbie Carrico is a failed singer from the pop group Boyz N Girlz United (check out their terrible music video). The band opened for Britney Spears and LFO before disbanding, and he was even one of Britney's first boyfriends. Robbie now fronts the band Missing Picket that rocks just about as hard as Daughtryback.

Syesha Mercado was on the failed television show The One and is the daughter of a Motown backup singer.

Joanne Borgella is a plus sized model and won the televised beauty pageant Mo’Nique’s Fat Chance in 2005. She previously sang with Patti Labelle, Mary Mary, and American Idol's own Bo Bice for a Christmas special. Joanne also appeared on the Tyra Banks Show, Good Morning America, and Hot 97 with Miss Jones.

Amy Davis sang in a band with 2 members of Survivor and was a round 2 qualifier for 2007’s Nashville Star. She is also a fairly successful model.

David Archuleta won Star Search at age 12. During Idol's first season, he met all of the finalists and even sang for Kelly Clarkson and the gang. A few days later, David met with a host of record labels and producers with connections to the show.

Brooke White opened for Phil Vassar on tour.

Jason Yeager was a top 25 finalist on Making the Band.

Kady Malloy had a record out where she worked with famed record producer Nick Trevisick. Nick has worked with Mandy Moore and Natalie Imbruglia. Her record has disappeared from AmieStreet since her audition appeared on Idol.

I don’t get this “Best Top 24 ever!” crap. Season 5 was way better than this. And I agree with you - outside of Sanjya, last year wasn’t bad.

Thanks for the info! Can you give us the real amatures who are in the Top 24? Those will get my vote regardless of how they sound.

I didn't care for last year. When it came to the females it was like most of them were all singing the same type of music. No variety.

While this year we should get a little variety from Overmyer and that Carly, I'm not sure how long Overmyer will last and then I think it will be a repeat of last year with most of the women singing the same types of song and canceling each other out. Time will tell though.

As for the guys, there are a few we haven't heard enough of to make an opinion. I'm going to reserve an opinion on them at this time.

I'm also undecided on whether they should be born in the USA or not.

This year is already pissing me off. Get me some country bumkin off the farm who has just graduated from high school and is working the family farm who can’t afford college and barely could afford the gas to get to the audition. These has beens that were failures should not be the direction of American Idol.

Wow...nice work. I just did a 180 on how I feel about these kids.....very discouraging. I kind of hope ‘Nobodies’ get their big break on this show....this really takes alot of the excitement away from me....

**Can you give us the real amatures who are in the Top 24?

I guess that would be these people, as least as far as we know for the moment. Then too, how much experience is too much?

Colton Berry (18) - Currently lives in Staunton, VA. Berry is a senior at Wilson Memorial High School. He began singing in church when he was 5 years old. Active in community theatre, he also mentors children in a music class at a local elementary school.

David Cook (25) - Currently lives in Tulsa, OK, but grew up in Blue Springs, MO. Cook was born in Houston and graduated from Central Missouri State University in 2006. He has been singing since he was in the 2nd grade and also plays the guitar. Cook was a member of two bands, Axium and MWK.

Chikezie Eze (22) - Currently lives in Inglewood, CA. Eze began singing when he was 13 years old. Before auditioning for AMERICAN IDOL, he was a T.S.A. (Transportation Security Administration) screener and a cashier. He also studied singing at Santa Monica College.

Garrett Haley (17) - Currently lives in Elida, OH, but spent his early years in Alamosa, CO. Haley is a junior at Elida High School. He began singing in elementary school and has performed in local talent shows and high school musicals.

David Hernandez (24) - Born and raised in Glendale, AZ. Hernandez began singing at age 6. He has performed at Urban Network Events, “Arizona Idol” and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Parade. He has been a member of the bands Tribét and Straight Up.

Luke Menard (29) - Born and raised in Crawfordsville, IN. Menard began singing when he was a freshman in high school. He earned a B.A. in Communications from Millikin University in Decatur, IL, and worked for a finance company in Chicago. After realizing that was not the job for him, Menard began touring with an a cappella group called Chapter 6.

Danny Noriega (18) - Currently lives in Azusa, CA. Noriega has been singing his entire life. Prior to auditioning for AMERICAN IDOL, Noriega had recently graduated from high school. In his spare time he likes to dance and make people laugh. He also loves animals.

Asia’h Epperson (19) - Born and raised in Joplin, MO. Epperson has been singing since she was 3 years old. Before IDOL, she was a waitress at two restaurants in Joplin. In her spare time, Epperson enjoys dancing and acting and also has a passion for makeup and fashion.

Alexandréa Lushington (17) - Currently lives in Douglasville, GA. Lushington began singing in her grandfather’s church when she was just 2 years old. She is currently a junior at Douglas County High School, where she sings in the school choir and is a member of the drama club. Lushington also plays the piano.

Ramiele Malubay (20) - Currently lives in Miramar, FL. Malubay was born in Saudi Arabia and spent her early years in the Philippines. She has been singing since she was 12 years old. Before IDOL, she was attending school and was a hostess at a local sushi restaurant. She also plays the piano and guitar.

Amanda Overmyer (23) - Raised and currently lives in Mulberry, IN. Overmyer is a health-care specialist and is earning a bachelor’s degree in business management. She was lead singer for the band Steeleto. In her spare time, Overmyer loves riding her motorcycle.

She’s the sort of broad that you would find fronting a band in a good bar. Good fun, good atmosphere but not a recording artist. I’d rather see he live though than listen to Tattoo by Jordin Sparks any day of the week.

I think that they wanted to improve the talent over last year’s bunch. They are deviating a bit from prior years but if the talent is better and more sellable artists come out of it then all the better.
