Wonder why they’re going back to that?
JACKSONVILLE -- Murdered Marine Maria Lauterbach reportedly recieved two death threats this week on an Internet memorial site.
According to the Jacksonville Daily News, the threats were made by at least two Marines.
The post appeared Feb. 5 on Lauterbach's MySpace memorial page.
Story continues belowAdvertisementLauterbach was killed in December and her burned body was found in Cpl. Cesar Laurean's backyard. He's accused of her murder but remains on the loose.
"Shut up or get cut up," the post read. It was posted with the name Lance Cpl. Parikh, who is assigned to a training command in California. Marine Corps officals confirm he had been under investigation for several MySpace.com postings. A second Marine under investigation, Lance Cpl. Jonathan Cole, is based at Camp Lejeune.
Jacksonville, N.C. resident Miley Collier started the memorial page.
The posts under investigation were removed from the site. Collier said she did not remove them but was informed by law enforcement officials that the part of the site under investigation might be temporaarily removed.
OK & TX U.S. Senators Introduce Semper Fi Act of 2008
Senators Introduce Semper Fi Act of 2008.
Bill Stops Berkeley Earmarks and Transfers Funds to Marine Corps.
The bill would rescind over $2 million in hidden earmarks for Berkeley, California in the 2008 Omnibus Appropriations bill, and transfer the funds to the Marine Corps. U.S. Congressman John Campbell (R-California) is introducing a companion bill in the House of Representatives.
That's gonna sting. I wonder how the Berzerklyites are planning to spend that $2 million. Encouraging to see the Rep. respond to the outrage. Hope the Act passes.
Looks like all the locals picked up on this.

Not only the locals, it was on national FOX news yesterday.
Another article in todays JDNews:
Authorities meet again with spouse of fugitive

I read the comments and while checking one out on MySpace, then going back, that comment is GONE....with the wind. I hope they keep posting articles and someone has enough and spills their guts in the comments.
Looks like somebody's got the autopsy results.
Now it looks as if the accused Marines are truly innocent of the death threats on the MySpace account. Reading thru the comments on JDN, ones parent and the others sister posted. Would put the link here but the comments are fast and furious so they keep moving.
But speculation from those family members now the site owner copied their post and added/changed them to fit her agenda....her 15 min of fame..... Geezzzzz, what do people get out of defaming others.

Curious. There was some confusion early on about the bus ticket. It was purchased on the 14th, to be redeemed on the 15th. We believe it was purchased by Maria before she was murdered. We do not release photos of witnesses or victims, except in special circumstances. Marias photos were released because she was reported to us as a missing person who was also 8 months pregnant. We reached out to the public for assistance in finding her. Cesars photos were released because we have drawn warrants for him and needed the publics assistance in locating him. Any images that we have released to the media of Cesar that also contained photos of Christina, we asked them not to show her photo to conform to our policy. If they obtain a photo on their own, we would have no authority over them to keep them from airing it if their producers chose to. It is not the place of our Office to encourage or discourage her in reference to speaking publicly. She continues to be a cooperating witness with our office, and she has legal counsel. She is making her own decisions with support from her family, her chain of command, and her legal counsel. Rick Sutherland - Feb 13, 2008 11:05:55 PM

Very interesting
Saturday: Cesar Laurean Update
to include:
"We are pursuing new leads in the investigation. We believe this new information is good information. We understand if he [Laurean] voluntarily left this country, he could also re-enter it at any point." Sutherland held back details that would reveal the location where authorities are pursuing these latest leads.
Let's hope and pray that they're onto something that pans out...
What thread is it on?
I have gone back thru all of those threads reading and it looks as if the mod took all of those post out. She posted on the 14th - but they are gone now. In essence the girl met Maria and became friends with her. Maria dated their (girl’s and hubbies) housemate in the beginning. They broke it off and Maria continued to be friends and she claims Maria was dating Cesar. She thought he was single at first.
The girl got bombarded with ?’s and cross examinations, it was ugly at times to hear what she was saying and what others were saying to her. It made for an interesting read and insight into Maria.
This is Jrenna’s live journal page, she is the one who answered the ?’s on the other forum.

That’s all weird, isn’t it? This investigation got dropped like a hot potato, which is even weirder.
To me, the silence is deafening...
Me, too.
