I think far too many people are ignorant these days to the realities of nature. This goes on daily in the wild and yes, animals do play with their food. That's how they teach the young ones to catch it!
I am a long way from ignorant of the realities of life and nature. But you are ignoring the fact that these lions are not in the wild and humans are making all the choices as to how they are fed.
