I am a long way from ignorant of the realities of life and nature. But you are ignoring the fact that these lions are not in the wild and humans are making all the choices as to how they are fed.

No I'm not ignoring that fact. The lions would probably prefer antelope anyway.

If any of this really bothered me, which it doesn't, it would be that they tease the lions with the chickens.
