The Hobbit Hole XXXV - ...is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
Posted on 01/03/2008 6:35:58 PM PST by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

It’s fascinating. But I want to do a chart that draws a line between all the connections.

Just close off those rooms and tell them not to clean them the first time or two.

Really?
Does your school have an opening for an art teacher? I think I might have a retirement career plan for you.

But do they match the couch?
To: Overtaxed
You know, if the couch is of a certain age, seems like you could just hang the cushions on the wall...

My grandparents used to have this God-awful brown and orange 70s couch in their living room. Last I heard they had put it in the basement.

My place is a relic of the 70s.
A bit of a mouldering relic.
But at least it doesn’t have shag carpet in the bathroom, like my house did when I first moved in. That was a baaaad idea.
The house also had wallpaper with giant daisies on two walls in the living room, and stripes in matching colors (goldenrod, avocado, orange...all that good stuff) on the other two walls. I’m hopin’ the folks that bought it fixed it up nice...
To: RosieCotton
When we bought our house it was a bad mix of 1980’s with an overuse of Williamsburg blue (non-washable paint on the kitchen cabinets) and faux “Waverly” patterns...
Sort of like Home Interiors on acid.

I’ve seen pictures of our old house in the 70s, before my parents bought it, and it looked just like you describe. Ick.
