The Hobbit Hole XXXV - ...is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

Posted on 01/03/2008 6:35:58 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

2J, you be a good nurse turned patient and do what they tell you. Take care of yourself, keep us updated. We’re praying for you.

In other newz...

According to thepaper’s website, it looks like most of the fires were contained. Several area schools, including Jr’s former elementary school (we moved from there), are closed today, either because of outages or fires.

In good news for the people of the Roanoke Valley, high winds meant that Hillary couldn’t land her broom for her campaign appearance.

Also, last night, Not Valerie managed to ~misplace~ Abby kitteh...We’ve been leaving the door open to encourage her to come out, of course while we’re watching. Last night Mrs. encouraged her for a couple of hours to come out, but she wouldn’t Then Mrs. got distracted and the cat was ...gone. We found her upstairs under Nana’s bed.

And, today end’s the official birthday weekend as Luke actually turns 8. Kinda scary since he’d just turned 1 when I first posted around here...

Wyoming's not that big a move ... and it's real easy to drop off the grid from there, should that become necessary.

Has your wife considered starting a business taking care of elderly people in their homes? I have a childhood friend who has a business like that in San Antonio, and she makes very nice money while working out of her home. She might also be able to get federal assistance with starting a business like that, especially if she can employ others.

Can she type well, or does she hunt-n-peck? Has she ever done customer service work?

They gave me a nitro under my tongue and it dropped my BP like a rock. Well, down to 140s over 80s...They’re also going to start me on another (additional) BP medication.

I'm amazed that a simple vasodilator like nitro can work so well for you. If nothing else, it can serve as a rescue med in the future. My mom carries around nitro, and I carry some for her, in case she needs it for her heart condition. Never has needed it yet, but it's still kept within reach.

Good news on the BP front, except for the still-elusive "why?". You'll beat this yet.

Party went well. It was somewhat subdued from previous years. But it also cost us about $300 less than previous years. Cousins stayed through until dinner and we had everyone cheering them on in a Wii bowling tournament with Sister Mary Hamburner’s husband.

Better’n my Monday morning math anyway. I’ve only been around her 6 years, not 7.

Temps dropped here yesterday/last night. It was in the 20s when I left the house. Up to the 40s now.

Much unlike the 70s we were havin’ last week.
