The Hobbit Hole XXXV - ...is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

Posted on 01/03/2008 6:35:58 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Thanks for the update. Added prayers heading in that direction.

My aunt is making steady progress in the hospital, where they’re still treating her for dehydration. A “something” showed up in a liver scan, so they’re doing a needle biopsy tomorrow.

Your prayers are appreciated, as always.

Hi all...

300mg, good to hear your aunt is progressing...keep us posted re the liver scan.

I’m admitted. Got a private room. Steve came back into the ER where I was all hooked up to heart monitors, oxygen and IVs and got so upset that he turned greyish color and nearly fainted. So after he sat down and got ahold of himself, I told him to take the boys home and let them go to their evening worship stuff. So he did that then brought me the laptop, then went back home. He just can’t stand it.

They gave me a nitro under my tongue and it dropped my BP like a rock. Well, down to 140s over 80s...They’re also going to start me on another (additional) BP medication.

They’re going to run tests to make sure the high BP hasn’t damaged anything and to make sure my vessels in my neck aren’t clogging up. That will be in the morning. I’m still on oxygen and a heart monitor.

I just now got some chocolate pudding.

Well, I’m glad you’re feeling well enough to post! I’ve been sitting here hitting refresh every coupla minutes hoping to hear from you. ;-)

Still, scary stuff. I’m glad you’re where they can keep an eye on things. Hopefully they can finally figure out what’s going on!

Mmmm. Chocolate pudding. Bet it was the best pudding you ever had! ;o) Seriesly, I hope they run plenty of tests to find out what’s causing the high BP! You got my prayers!

So glad you posted, 2J! I couldn’t sleep, was worried about you, and didn’t want my tossing and turning to wake OB so I just got up. Now that I know you’re being closely watched, and have had your chocolate pudding (a must!), maybe I can get some sleep.

Yikes, I've seen those on House and they don't look the least bit pleasant! Prayers going up for your aunt. LSA

So far the tests have all come back normal. The symptoms I was experiencing were chest tightness, neck and face feeling full and a headache. When they got the BP down, it went away.

So it’s looking more and more like they won’t find the cause...which, with high blood pressure is the case 95% of the time.

It will be done under local anesthesia. Since I haven't watched House, and neither has my aunt, we will continue on in blissful ignorance of TV medicine.

Yeah, but if the meds you're on aren't doing the trick, and the high BP comes and goes, it seems like it's something other than, as Rosie said, your 'garden variety high BP'. Prayers that they'll find out what's underneath it all, so they can work on that!

About 35 "businesses"-- several banks and ortgage companies (why?), the Wyoming Dept of Corrections (apparently WY has more jobs than people; and they had to keep telling people that it wasn't the Grand Rapids suburb of Wyoming, but a whole 'nuther state). I dropped a resume there just for fun, and also with the city bus line ("The Rapid") and Aldi. I spent an inordinate amount of time jaw-jackin' with the Army recruiter (who said No, we can't take you back with your busted foot) and the Army Nat'l Guard (who said Yes, we probably could take you back with your busted foot).

MrsExGeeEye dropped an application on AngelCare (a home health aide sort of a thing) and a temp agency.

Took about 90 minutes, but I don't think it was wasted.
