An empty vodka bottle was also found in a car used by Amritpal Dhaliwal, 19, and his brother, Kulbir, 23, on the day of the mauling, which left 17-year-old Carlos Sousa Jr. dead, according to the source.
The discoveries could be an indication that the brothers may have taunted the 350-pound Siberian tiger before it leapt from its grotto.

She did make a mistake this time though. She should have killed the other two when she had the chance instead of playing with her food. Then she should have went back into her enclosure and pretended like she didn't know what happened.
And atleast one of the "kids" has a record proving that he is "quick tempered" and probably less intelligent than his fellow human beings who manage to go to the zoo without being attacked by the animals there.
They are better these days.
If these rejects were shooting at the tiger, I have no sympathy for them.
What kind of zoo is this? No elephants?
Geragos is pond bottom scum. He continues to lose cases. Yet he goes where he smells big money and national coverage. What a loser. I hope the jury finds that these kids did indeed aggravate this attack, and are entitled to no compensation.
Just like Jack Hanna said...three males 17, 19 & 23 — on Christmas Day — decide to drive over an hour to go to a zoo (on the way to Mom’s house?) — empty bottle of vodka in the front seat of the car used by the three — slingshot devices.
Was this maybe a gang initiation/dare type event? Let’s get drunk and go slingshot a tiger on a day when not too many people will be at the zoo?
Why do people hire Mark Gerragos, anyway? He *does* keep losing his high profile cases as of late.
And I love Hanna’s statement about fences...just how high are we supposed to make them? It’s like at Daytona. Cars zipping by around 200mph, and some drunk clown decides to scale a fence and jump onto the track? Do we sue NASCAR for flattening and killing the intoxicated loon?
There’s a new witness report in today’s Chronicle of a lady who saw those 3 kids and a 4th one at the nearby Lion exhibit taunting the lions. Maybe the shoe belongs to the 4th person.
Check the lion crap for a shoe, some buttons......and a slingshot.
Geragos probably would.
The tiger said that he wanted out! = that’s the channel!
Yep, I bought a slingshot at our local WalMart a couple of years ago to taunt squirrels in our backyard that were robbing the bird feeder....
I got enough common sense to not taunt lions, tigers or bears......
Unfortunately the zoo will end up losing this lawsuit when it is these jerk “boys” who prompted the attack by a WILD animal. Though they are legal age, they lack maturity and are boys who decided to have fun with a wild animal.
Oh, you know it.
As I said in a previous post, taunting a tiger is a special kind of stupid. The tiger took it upon itself to help clean up the gene pool.
From what I have seen, that enclosure was inspected every year since it was built and nobody saw a problem with it. Two morons taunt a tiger and all of a sudden we have a problem?
There's a lot of supposition, accusation, misrepresentation and character assassination out there.
The very existene of the San Fran animal zoo is in danger.
