For what it’s worth, I’ve always liked IBM’s industrial designs. Almost Germanic IMHO.

I see what you mean about the Pixar lamp. Weird. I think the lamp is cute, the computer hideous, but I can see a strong resemblance. I guess it’s the animation and “mannerisms” of the lamp that I find cute, rather than the shape. BTW, what do you mean by IBM’s design having a Germanic flavor? Do you have links to any pictures of products or designs that would show me what you mean. That’s interesting to me.
