**Ladies and Gentlemen...it's the FR College Football 2007-08 Bowl Games Thread**

It's the most wonderful time of the year...With my Utes winning bowl games and BYU losing so I'll be of good cheer...it's the most wonderful time of the year...
--Ow! Tomatoes hurt you know. Sheesh...
During the regular season, I would normally do my fancy and mildly humorous graphical elements and those of you who would like me to feature their school's games, I would oblige. However, since we've got miles to go before we sleep, I'll re-ping the list as we go along and include said graphics. Sound like a deal? Excellent.
Tomorrow the fun will begin. (For me, at least). :)

No I have not heard anything at all. The Fox Sports guys read off a list of names, but so very fast I could not get all of them.

I have read that most of the staff has chosen to go with Rodriguez. I think we’ll find out if it’s true by the weekend.

But this season has been the best for the Big East. Agree. WVU has established themselves as a major program, and will reap the recruiting benefits from that. Louisville had a down year, but I personally think Kragthorpe is a very good coach and he is a master recruiter.
USF and UConn are up and coming programs, and with a couple more good seasons Rutgers might finally corner the NJ/Delaware recruiting area.

Obviously I am an SEC fan (HOW BOUT THEM DAWGS), and we all have think out fav teams conference is the best. So the arguments over which Conference is best are truly a circular argument.
HOwever, I think the SEC gets the majority of people (R.E. Presstitutes) because of the fact they have more recognized "power programs" (deserved or not).
Percieved power programs - sustained excellence over years : (My opinion)
SEC - Florida, Lsu, Tenn, Georgia, Auburn, Alabama
Big-10 - Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State
Big-12 - Oklahoma, Texas, Nebraska
Pac-10 - USC
Big East - West Virginia
ACC - FSU, Miami, maybe Va Tech.
Yes, there are teams that have a great teams more often than not (WIsconsin, Louisville, etc), but the group above are the ones that are considered perennial power teams (though some - Bama, Nebraska - have struggled in recent years).

You figure that eventually we'll get a reasonably competitive BCS game, so here is tonight's attempt at such.
Kansas takes on ACC Champion Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl (8:00 pm, FOX) Now, I know what you're thinking. Why is KU playing in this game when Mizzou beat them this year? But could we just not have this debate right now and wonder if the Jayhawks can make this game at least somewhat interesting? And for those of you curious, it's going to be in the upper 50s or so tonight. Aw, below 60 at night in Miami, poor babies...yes, I'm complaining about the weather, what else is new?
Well, enjoy the game tonight.

As much as I like KU Jayhawks and adimre their never say die attitude, they will have a lot on their hands with VT.

**** still cant believe John Cooper was hired at OSU almost 20 years ago****
I remember his first press conference when he was hired (these things get alot of media coverage in Columbus, Ohio LOL) and he said said something to the effect, "if any of you are wondering about my recruiting ability take a look at my wife." She was a babe (might still be).
To: Biggirl
It’s funny how these analretentive SEC types don’t get the “big & slow” sarcasm. LOL!

BTW Jennifer Garner was recently named West Virginian Of The Year.
To: fkabuckeyesrule
Yep, my sarcasm made this thread very exciting. LOL
But I do remember looking at a picture of a few of the LSU Tigers players and I noticed there are a lot of big, beefy players on that team. Hope your Buckeyes have enough really fast players to run circles around the Tigers so that they will be made exhusted by the Buckeyes efforts. :)
