It's the most wonderful time of the year...With my Utes winning bowl games and BYU losing so I'll be of good cheer...it's the most wonderful time of the year...
--Ow! Tomatoes hurt you know. Sheesh...
During the regular season, I would normally do my fancy and mildly humorous graphical elements and those of you who would like me to feature their school's games, I would oblige. However, since we've got miles to go before we sleep, I'll re-ping the list as we go along and include said graphics. Sound like a deal? Excellent.
Tomorrow the fun will begin. (For me, at least). :)
Ha ha, I’m trying to remember who that was that played Old Blue Eyes in that sketch. I want to say Phil Hartman, but that’s probably not going far enough into the past.
No problemo! I had the idea a while back for next season that I’d buy a video camera, go on the road and do a FR College Football Video Blog Tailgate thingy from a College Football pingee’s tailgate lot. If I get a substantial raise at work this May, I just might do that. I could do it in contest form and everything.
(Although in the words of Hillary! “America can’t afford all of my ideas”.)
We’ve got a tight, defensive battle in the Liberty Bowl. UCF just missed a FG, it’s still 3-3
Yes it would be great if you could do a travel blog of all the best tailgating pre-game parties, including UConn next season. Tailgate parties at the “Rent” have become sucessful in these last few years. Great way to make next year’s season threads even more sucessful. Go for it. :) =^..^=
Well, what’d I’d have to do is pick one team and go to one of their home games and have a celebrity FReeper do the featured games on a video via YouTube or something like that. If I ever got a laptop with WiFi I’d probably FReep live from a game. :)
It’s a final Mississippi State 10 UCF 3
A great defensive game overall by MSU. Great win for the Bulldogs. Now we go to Joe Paterno’s 500th game (!). 500 games. That’s amazing, I couldnt imagine coaching 1 game, but 500?? I’m speechless.
Yeah. It was Phil Hartman. All I needed was an excuse not to cheer for the Aggies, and then they gave me one.
LOL, I can only surmise it wouldn’t have taken much of an excuse to do so. ;)
Oh yeah, I’m one of about 55 people outside of Texas and PA watching the Alamo Bowl, so if you want an update, let me know, :)
It was a big deal back then... he gave a verbal, then his father intervened by stating Washington didnt have enough black coaches on the staff.
Looking online, it appears that Neuheisel was hired over an older black assistant coach at Colorado and some type of protest went on.
This is the first I heard about the scab argument. But I remember as a teenager watching from the stands Neuheisel as a walkon QB win the Rose Bowl MVP trophy......versus Illinois (their last visit to Pasadena.)
Two of the touchdown passes were caught by....Karl Dorrell.
I like how they showed the clip from the pep rally and the A&M cheerleaders right away into the broadcast.
I’d better not ever hear “classless” out of one of them again.
PS—don’t forget Red Raider Wes Welker & the Patriots are playing tonight too!
Having to deal with BYU fans most of the year out in cyberspace or whenever I’m in Utah, I can almost promise you that “classless” will get thrown around, because they, like the A&M yell practice kid, can’t see the forest through the trees.
7-0 A&M.
Wes Welker was a Red Raider? Huh, sure enough he was. And I thought I knew it all. ;) I’m keeping an eye on the Alamo Bowl for all those interested though. That and I’m not in a Bryant Gumbel mood right now. Haven’t been since about 1989.
Oh boy, Mike Goodson’s 2nd TD in less than 30 seconds. 14-0 Texas Aggies.
Ah, okay. I did remember Kellen Winslow Sr. had for reasons I’ll never figure out become some kind of black power/Sharptonesque activist and he made some comments to that end in his HOF speech a few years ago.
Kellen Jr.’s “I’m a $#@@#ing soldier” comment a few years back was comical to me though.
Oh, yeah...he was a Red Raider! He originally tried to walk on with OU and/or OSU (he is from Oklahoma), and then some other schools, and no one would even let him walk on due to his size. What I’ve heard is that Tech had a scholarship freed up by a player who backed out at the last minute, so Leach invited Welker to walk on, and the rest is history!
That’s a great story! I’m sure the Oklahoma schools are kicking themselves a little. ;)
TD Penn State, but of course they’re reviewing this.
Call stands 14-7 A&M now in the 2nd
