I wonder if there were any anti-war libs on board who were just stewing in their seats...
I had the same thoughts as did you re how many libs might have been on the plane. And, the flight from Atlanta at that time likely had mostly northeasterners, rather than Peach Staters...
With that being said, the applause was hearty rather than scattered and as I looked around essentially everyone was clapping.
