"Joe Salter, 52, of Mary Esther, told investigators Club 10 employees took advantage of his 24-year-old son, Tommy."

Fathers, let this be a lesson to you. NEVER allow your son to go to a strip club without you!

What I want to know is this, Is there a $2000 bottle of champagne and is it worth it?

No and no, in that order. The most expensive champagne I could find at this site was Cristal (a very good French) at $382 for next day delivery; Dom Perignon is @255 next day at the same site. They're both very nice wines, but even at those prices they're not worth it in my book.

As far as bona fides, my late father-in-law was a distributor for fine wines in the SF Bay areas and gave me quite an education.

One might pay $2,000 (or more) for a very rare vintage at auction - with every possibility of having some very expensive vinegar under that cork. But I'd bet a year's pay no strip club, high class or not, would have anything of that nature.

"Macallan 16 year old for me, Miss. And another iced tea for my 'girlfriend, here."

To be honest, I really don’t know much about champagne. I found the bottle I mentioned on a champagne retailer website. It was going for $600.

At some point in this conversation it might be best to hear from the seasoned veterans.

So allow an old cowboy to talk about whores and bottles of champagne.

When I was a young cowboy and made my living on the card tables of Reno, every highly successful night ended with a cab trip “East”.

What that means is that you stepped out of the MGM hailed a cab and said “would you like to go east?”

This gave the driver the option of not driving out of town to the Mustang Ranch, waiting an hour and driving back into town.

Never had one say no.

While the fare was only $25 + tip, the drive also received a % of what you spent from the Ranch.

I said all this to talk about the price of a bottle of Champagne.

It is true that you can get a bottle of Dom at the Discount Liquor for a few hundred dollars, but that is not what we are dealing with.

In the Glory Days the Ranch would let you pick two of their lovely ladies for a quick half and half for about a C note.

Money well spent.

Those cowboys who had enough time in the saddle to understand the game would come in the door (a bell rings and the available ladies would line up) and go to the bar for a bit.

The liquor was priced like gold, but it was nice to sit a spell and watch as the ladies came and went - always looking for that perfect companion for the night (or fraction thereof).

Back to the champagne.

One of the constants of this brothel and every ti++y bar in the world is the old “Champagne” trick.

When you and the lovely womenfolk were in the privacy of their room, there was always the suggestion of “lets get a bottle of Champagne and loosen up a bit”.

Well sir, I do not doubt that you are an expert on the value of wine but what you get in most of these places is 2 for 5$ Andre or the like.

The price is at least 20$ and can be 100$ depending on how the ladies judge your state of intoxication and bankroll. - And they are very good at their work.

So - when boys go to whorehouses the price of tuition can be very steep.

At the ti++y bars it is even worse - for there is no happy ending.

The fleecing of horny young men is a very old and well established trade. Baring forgery - it is what it is.

Thanks for all the old memories...

Huck

You might find this article of interest. It’s primarily about a wealthy collector and his fight to get recompensated for bogus wines he purchased that were supposed to be from Thomas Jefferson’s collection (four bottles for $500,000), but there is other interesting information about vintage wine fraud in general. Here’s an excerpt:

Rajat Parr, a prominent wine director who oversees restaurants in Las Vegas, told me that several years ago some of his customers ordered a bottle of 1982 Pétrus, which can sell in restaurants for as much as six thousand dollars. The party finished the bottle and ordered a second. But the second bottle tasted noticeably different, so they sent it back. The staff apologetically produced a third bottle, which the diners consumed with pleasure. Parr closely examined the three bottles and discovered the problem with the second one: it was genuine.

I used to work in a strip club as a DJ-Announcer. Those wimmin work there for only one reason - to take money from anybody who will give it to them. Most I knew hated men and loved the contest.

Some would cry and make up stories, some would pad the charge cards....some would do anything to take from the losers who wanted their attention.

For those of you who plan on going to a club....never take a charge card. Take a finite amount of cash and leave when you’re empty.

We’re talking two completely different types of establishments. The one in question is relatively ‘high class’.

"Relatively"...for Florida?

Have you ever seen a ‘local’ or a ‘national’ report for that matter that speaks in glowing terms about a strip bar?

Me neither.

Take it with a grain of salt. John Gibson’s ‘Big Story’ this afternoon is going to make hay with this.
