Sep 04th, '07 - "It makes it impossible for OK!, in good conscience, to promote this family's highly questionable relationship in our pages," the magazine said in a statement last week. "It's unfortuntae," the mag's editor, Sarah Ivens, said, "but at the moment, my biggest fear is that Larry and Howard may have tricked us all." Speaking to E! Online in the wake of the magazine's cryptic announcement, Birkhead called the rag's reaction "sour grapes" after OK! caught wind that rival tabloid Us Weekly had expressed interest in its exclusive cover subject. Whatever the reason, Birkhead said he planned to file suit against the magazine for "alluding to the fact that I'd be involved in anything unethical or immoral with my daughter."

in hindsight, it could be very ‘convenient’ for all that they are gone...
i don’t think they were ‘enemies’ already when Anna first had her baby - she invited the entire crew over and iirc she introduced the baby to Shelley’s wife as ‘sister’.
Gaither, GBen and Ford, as well as Ford’s wife, were all there at the Horizons the day after Daniel’s death, and Stern didn’t have a problem involving them in tossing clothing or moving mattresses, or picking up fallen drug bags.
I think the drugs-falling-from-moving-the-mattress episode, along with flushing pills, was the point when GBen/Shelley probably made the decision, this is too deep - enough is enough we need to be out from under direct ownership of a drug house and if we can’t be then HKS has to go, and if it means Anna too, well...
From Rita’s book, Anna was still trying to talk Thompson into putting his name on the birth cert as of just before the fake wedding. And Riley still hadn’t talked abut her 36hrs at the Horizons from the way Shelley was talking about later asking Anna for ‘the tape’.
I think things went totally sour around Oct 10th ‘06:

Didn’t Donna Hogan at one point admit she did drugs too?
Donna’s daughter is old enough to have a child, yet obviously Donna never cared to get the poor dear some surgery for her eye problem. Now a granddaughter right behind that one. Apparently Donna’s boob job and hair bleach were more important than her own daughter’s eyes ... or dental care!

i caught the Ellen show, and from LB’s performance, I can imagine now, how he first presented himself to Opri. with fake almost-tears the entire time he was speaking - noticeably off-key to the show’s normal, happy, cheery, superficial topics, feelgood tone - he made a point of telling that he had ‘gone thru the belongings of two dead people’ (!) (imow) and found a bunch of pledges to charitable causes - by that, he ‘learned’ that Anna ‘adopted’ children by giving money to them...(but nothing about what he learned going thru Daniel’s belongings!)...rambling about the Dannielynn house to be built in HIS hometown ..and with a ‘background’ in photojournalism he had a natural ‘need’ to ‘document’ DL’s life (like HKS documented Annas’?) [creeped me out]
Imo everything he said and his body language was an attempt to play the ‘sympathy card’ with Ellen and her audience and his whole interview was a complete downer - including his shaking Ellen’s hand instead of a hug .I ws relieved when the chemical guy came out and lightened up the mood!! the audience’s consolation prize for listening to his self-agrandization was Virgin Airlines Sir Richard coming out later and giving everyone two tickets to NYC!! HA!

looks like the Hogan dad genes are strong and dominant, as most of the girls seem very similar in facial features. Kayla is such a pretty young lady :) and little Alexis is cute as a bug, too!
Glad to know that Donna Hogan is using some of her book proceeds to fix her daughter’s eyes - hopefully Alexis’ eyes will also be tended to?

Wecht adds that no drugs were found “on his person, in his clothing or luggage.” Two pills that were discovered in a container in the room have not been identified as belonging to Daniel. “

The older one belongs to Donna & the younger girl belongs to Amy (Donna’s sister - Anna’s 1/2 sister).

In a bizarre twist to the latest book on Anna Nicole Smith, its authors are now suing their own publisher.
Jody (Babydol) Gibson, a former Hollywood “super madam,” is selling “Anna Nicole Smith: Portrait of an Icon” online through her imprint, Corona. But authors Pol’ Atteu and Patrik Simpson tell me they backed out of their arrangement with Gibson and are selling a separate “signature edition” through publisher Kings Road.
In legal papers soon to be filed, they allege fraud and breach of contract and are seeking $50,000 plus attorneys’ fees.
Simpson and Atteu acknowledge signing an agreement with Gibson, but told me Monday they regarded the document as a “draft.” And quite apart from making any money from the book, they say they gave her $3,000 toward expenses.
“We didn’t know they were supposed to give us an advance,” Simpson told me. “We just wanted to put out a beautiful tribute to our friend [Smith]. [Gibson] is a convicted criminal; we didn’t know the extent of everything she was doing.”
(Gibson, who alleges Ben Affleck and Bruce Willis were among the clients of her escort service, was convicted in 2000 of solicitation and pimping.)
Says an offended Atteu: “She has no sensitivity to our departed friend. Her office address is a motel on Wilshire Blvd.”
Gibson did not return a call Monday.

from the way the players have capitalized on everything Anna so far, the name ‘anna nicole island’ was most likely sold/licensed to the developers for an undisclosed sum/royalties/future piece of the action - same as with King Eric’s racing sloop, Anna Nicole. I’m sure Larry was assigned to ‘accidently let it slip’ so when some newsagency broke the financials, nobody would be ‘surprised’. I’d venture a doubt she’d ever even been there, unless by boat with nygard back-in-the-day - instead, it’s most likely a clear-cut case of raw commercialism at it’s dirtiest - Howard owns Anna’s name, not DL, and it’s being made very clear to all.

Thanks. They must mean “Sandy Cay.” OK, they’re not the same place. Sandy Cay is 3 miles northeast of Paradise Island. Paradise Key is 1.5 miles due east of Paradise Island.
Get this - I found the website for Paradise Key itself (not just the developer’s MySpace page) and there is a small box on the front page announcing that Larry and Dannielynn had been there to visit.
It doesn’t say a thing about the island (”key”/cay) itself being named Anna Nicole Island, as Larry said it was.
But here’s what made my eyeballs pop out a little - remember, they’re touting Dannielynn’s visit on the front page and on another inside page of its own - OK?
