Marking the first anniversary of Anna Nicole Smith’s death on Friday is a new book by two confidants - and her baby-daddy, Larry Birkhead, tells me he plans to sue.
“Anna Nicole: Portrait of an Icon” is a controversial look at her topsy-turvy life. Written by her dress designer Pol’ Atteu and his partner Patrik Simpson, the book tells some startling stories from their eight years of friendship.
Most damaging for Birkhead could be the couple’s account of meeting him at Camp Kindle, a retreat for HIV-positive youth.
“After our first meeting with Larry Birkhead he gave us the impression he was ‘family,’ displaying some unusual behavior by hitting on Pol’ and myself,” alleges Simpson. The book also claims that Birkhead’s “secret rendezvous there included spending quite a bit of time with a particular young and handsome male counselor.”
Birkhead told me yesterday: “They are absolutely crazy, their stories are false, and they will be sued.”
Separately, Atteu recalls being summoned to the Bahamas with an outfit for Anna Nicole to bury her son, Daniel - only to be told she needed a wedding dress to marry Howard K. Stern instead.
“We were completely dumbfounded and confused. There was no mention of Daniel’s funeral,” Atteu writes. He made the wedding dress with fabric he’d brought for baby Dannielynn’s nursery curtains.
In her final weeks, the book says, Smith went from denial that her son had died to a conviction that he was calling to her and that she had to go to him.
Atteu and Simpson are releasing the title through Corona Books, an imprint owned by former “Hollywood Super Madam,” Jody (Babydol) Gibson. Although the book is not yet in stores, it is available for download.
The couple has a daughter, Shelby, and a dog ... called Anna.
Larry hasn’t sued Cosby...So this may be part of Why not??
Could be. There’s no way he could sue her and not be asked the question (under oath) if he has ever had a sexual relationship or encounter with a man. I’m pretty tempted to download this book. It’s only being offered as an ebook. I would love to read their take on Stern.

I haven’t been able to be online for a day or two, so I’ll have to go read all that. What I’ve seen on TV sure sounded familiar, as in “patterns.”
I had Rale as now being a partner with a law firm named Carlson, deKlerk, Sherman & Rale.
Of course, I hadn’t checked up on him in the past few months, weeks or days, so he could’ve hopscotched again - I don’t know!

Larry is always referring to it - as in “she did good things, too - you should’ve seen her with the sick kids” - stuff like that. He was probably also on the meal ticket for the ops.

I know it’s not like Daniel’s or even Anna’s drug intake - but this whole business of “all drugs were at therapeutically low” doses just doesn’t make sense when the patient is dead!

i think the camp was on the trimspa tour bus tour just after Kentucky Derby - Larry up and dropped everything to romp along and did talk about falling in love. I’m not sure if he rode the tour bus all the way back to calif or not, (anna was back in calif by Jul 18 for a FHM Mag photoshoot) but he did say he didn’t ‘move in with’ Anna until 2005 iirc.
There’s a story that goes with this tour that is kinda funny about Vicki having to wee in a catlitter box because the doors were stuck shut!

I'm now more convinced than ever that the 'marriage' was the price Howie sold his signature on DL's birth certificate for. Being Anna's 'husband' was convenient to him until her death, when 'friend' became a safer label - excusing the marriage as a 'mistake'. As for Larry - well, every time we turn around, he's threatening to sue, but he never quite seems to get around to it - wonder why? ...imo

I know that sentence was poorly written - it made me read it twice the first time I saw it, too.
It sounded like Pol was supposed to make a suit for Daniel, but they meant that Pol was supposed to bring to The Bahamas “an outfit for Anna Nicole” to wear to the funeral.
Well, I’m glad you posted that article with the gist of the story about the ET exclusive.
I confess that I did watch it, in fact twice, trying to get some idea of what it was all about. LB opens his mouth and all I hear is “blah blah blah blah”. Charlie Brown’s teacher (*wah wah wah* - horn sounds) is more intelligible.
Something about a family reunion for DL at the graves? They didn’t show the screaming Dannielynn pix that were in the first day’s preview. They showed her sometimes with little black Mary Janes on and sometimes with them off.
(Dad obviously doesn’t worry about green grass stains on little white tights, lol. Shoes were on while she was being carried from the parking lot, shoes were off when he was putting her down or picking her up from trying to stand in the grass by the grave. Then they were on again, then off again, then on, then off - every frame was different.)
She was saying “ma ma ma ma ma” like that and both Larry and ET said she was saying “Momma” when she wasn’t! She was just making baby sounds!
ET was being so morbid about all the Anna “death stuff” and perhaps the dumbest (well, maybe not *the* dumbest) statement made was when they did a close-up on Dannielynn’s hair. She had on two bows, one on each side - a black one and a white one, to match her outfit.
ET zoomed in close on the side with the black one and the dramatic voiceover says “wearing a black bow in her hair” as if it is her widow’s weeds.
She didn’t do any standing or walking, just a lot of kicking - but there will be more tomorrow, so maybe they’re saving it.
Jann Carl was just urpy when saying how “touching” it was that DL left Anna Nicole a “gift” on her grave, a little pink plastic turtle that was her favorite toy. Carl went on and on about how easily DL “just let go of it and left it there.”
Come on! How stupid does this coverage have to get? They had led up to it the whole show like it was some big inside secret - “what Dannielynn left on the grave.” I thought, if nothing else, the dullard dadster would say he and Anna always joked about wanting to be turtles and just crawling inside their shells or something. Nope, just a toy of DL’s, that’s all!
LB said he always goes to Anna’s grave “every time he’s in Nassau.” Good grief - how often does he go there and why can’t he go testify at the inquest, and who the heck *else* would he “go see” or where the heck *else* would he go when he is there? This was just idiotic.
Next (today) is supposed to be DL in the church where the funeral was, looking out a stained glass window, for some reason. She has on a *different* black dress for this one.
There was also some buildup about something, but it went in one ear and out my other. Probably about the headstone, but who knows?
