Anna Nicole Smith, Seeking Justice #4
What is needed is a TV channel devoted exclusively to updating *blockbuster* cases. The regular news cycles are like volcanoes....huge explosions..then just dust & ashes.
I might suggest that to DiscoveryTimes or TruTV. Professional legal anchors with periodic updates of important developments - detailed and refreshed.
We’ll need a few of the veterans from Natalee & ANS threads for research & editing.
Put ‘em all to work for a decent salary;p
But if he wasn't around at the beginning of the fight for the estate, how did he wiggle in? What's the date of the agreement?
He was a real lousy witness in Seidlin's court (drinking from a cup with no water), wasn't good at the mike during the fatherhood fight in the Bahamas or during any of the media interviews.
Howard: "An attorney without a client"....Anna was a "poor me" sucker who made suckers out of an awful lot of people including Old Man Marshall.
And others...I don’t mean to say anything bad about Anna. To lose a son...I can’t imagine.
That we need. Good idea. So many interesting stories and suddenly they fall off the radar: David Copperfield’s rape charges, Howie’s comings and goings, case against Dr. Eroshevich, Crystal Magnum’s status, and many more.
Cowboys losing bump.

Bahamas Government Corruption Exposed in Daniel Smith Inquest

Inquiring minds want to know why the Daniel Smith inquest was postponed due to the hurricane while the election court case was allowed to proceed.
At the first sign of rain, the loosely-knit band of criminals known as the government of The Bahamas, once again, adjourned the much delayed inquest into the mysterious death of Anna Nicole Smith’s son, Daniel.
Yet, the spat between the PLP and the FNM tribes, over the May election results, continued unabated on Wednesday.
The Daniel Smith inquest has been postponed by the corrupt government of The Bahamas on numerous occassions.
Daniel Smith died suddenly under unusual circumstances at Doctors Hospital on September 10, 2006, where he was visiting his mother and newborn sister.
A private autopsy later revealed that his body contained a lethal cocktail of drugs, including methadone and at least two anti-depressants.
Several top-level PLP tribe members are suspected of engaging in criminal behaviour, ranging from illegally expediting Anna Nicole’s residency permit to aiding and abetting in the alleged murder of Daniel Smith and Anna Nicole.
Originally scheduled for last October, 2006, the inquest was first cancelled after it was discovered that Daniel may have been murdered by persons close to Anna Nicole Smith, persons who were chummy with certain corrupt Bahamian Cabinet members.
The Bahamas government was so concerned about the results of the investigation into Daniel’s death, that they not only cancelled the inquest, they scrapped the entire Coroner’s Court process in an attempt to sweep the controversial case under a rug.
Disquiet was expressed on US cable television and elsewhere over the Bahamian authorities’ failure to order a proper inquiry into the case.
Finally, due to pressure from the local media, and an international petition from a contingent of bloggers from the United States, the Bahamas government agreed to hold an inquest at a later date.
The inquest was scheduled, but then postponed again in March when an allegedly-corrupt Bahamian attorney representing Howard K Stern, (Wayne Munroe) convinced an incompetent and foolish Magistrate (Roger Gomez) that there was no way an impartial jury could be selected. That argument was later thrown out by Supreme Court Justice John Lyons, who also removed Magistrate Gomez from the case after Gomez violated court protocol by talking to the press about an ongoing case. Mr. Stern was the lawyer-turned self proclaimed lover of Daniel’s mother, Anna Nicole.
An insider at the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism said he overheard government Ministers discussing the case and marvelling at how many tourism dollars the government has “milked” from the inquest, with all the postponements.
“Every time the inquest is postponed, various persons have to reschedule additional trips to The Bahamas. This results in more hotel room bookings and related income for the nation and helps insure that certain media representatives and ‘uncontrollable’ witnesses will eventually get tired of going back and forth from The Bahamas, thus, hopefully, failing to appear when the inquest is finally staged.”
The most recent postponement is the most obvious example of government manipulation because the case was adjourned due to Tropical Storm Noel, which pretty much avoided Nassau anyway. More suspicious was the fact that other courts, including the one hearing the PLP election case, continued on Wednesday, despite the impending storm.
Here is another article, from one month ago. Adds evidence to the thought that ANS couldn’t have methadone in her system when she died or else the headlines would say: “mother and son die from same cause.” Also intriguing: HKS and Gibson family members were present at both death scenes.
Anna Nicole’s son died from too much methadone, expert says

NASSAU, Bahamas The dangerous amount of methadone taken by Anna Nicole Smith’s 20-year-old son was the main factor behind his death last year, the Bahamian police’s forensics chief testified Tuesday at an inquest into the death.
Superintendent Quinn McCartney’s conclusion differs slightly from the findings of two pathologists who said Daniel Smith was killed by an interaction of methadone and two antidepressants.
“Even if there were no other drugs present in (Smith’s) bloodstream, the methadone level would be enough to set off alarms,” said McCartney, who added that the young man had bloody froth in his lungs that he interpreted as a “clear sign of overdose.”
Daniel Smith collapsed and died Sept. 10, 2006, as he visited his celebrity mother at a Nassau hospital where she had given birth three days earlier.
Police believe he came to the Bahamas the night before and went directly to the hospital where he spent the night with his mother, her boyfriend, Howard K. Stern, and his newborn half-sister. McCartney said the methadone could have been in his system when he arrived.
Anna Nicole Smith, a reality TV star and former Playboy playmate, died Feb. 8 in Florida from an overdose of prescription drugs, including a sleep aid that she reportedly took to cope with grief over her son’s death. Smith, 39, was buried beside her son at a Nassau cemetery.
An attorney for Stern said Monday that Smith’s son was taking medications including methadone, which is often prescribed as a pain reliever or to suppress drug withdrawal symptoms, to treat either depression or back pain.
Another witness on the fourth day of the inquest, police Inspector Frederick Taylor, testified that former Immigration Minister Shane Gibson was in the hospital room when he and other officers arrived at the facility.
Gibson, who fast-tracked Anna Nicole Smith’s application for permanent residency in the Bahamas, later resigned after a newspaper published photographs of him embracing her on a bed.
Testimony in the inquest is scheduled to resume Wednesday.

All:
What’s happening with the inquest? I thought it was supposed to reconvene on January 10th.
I think January 28th.
I'm a little confused about the percentages in his bloodstream and them saying it could have been in his system for a while. I've said right along that KE might have given him something before he left Ca.
I'd also like to know if the 26 pills in his bag were in a bottle or loose. If they were in a bottle and Howard found them first than his prints would NATURALLY be on the bottle. But suppose Howard's prints are partially under Daniel's. It's amazing what computers can do today to determine layers.
Hi, SP - glad to see you here. I haven’t been here in awhile. I’ll have to reread the threads.
Did the inquest ever happen for Daniel? If so what was the result?

PART THREE! It’s up....
I'd previously focused on the part about Vicki being in a hotel room and not able to leave before her death...(near end of snipped interview)...
but, what I missed is, we might just have a source for the alleged spliced 'pool party' footage to the clown video, and, we have an overlooked timeline item - a visit from John James to Anna's house in the Bahamas over Labor Day:
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP, "LARRY KING LIVE")
SMITH: I can't trust anybody. I just -- I can't. I get sued all the time. I can't trust anybody.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
TUCHMAN: Gary Tuchman, CNN, New Orleans.
(END VIDEOTAPE)
COOPER: Sad end.
With me now are two people who knew Anna Nicole Smith, in New York, a friend, John James, and from Los Angeles, Jennifer Saginor, author of "Playground: A Childhood Lost Inside the Playboy Mansion."
I appreciate both of you being on. I'm sorry it's under these circumstances.
John, you were friends with Anna Nicole Smith. You were an executive producer for the movie "Illegal Aliens," which you finished filming just last year. You were with -- you were with -- you were there at her wedding to Howard K. Stern.
When you first heard news of her death, were you surprised?
JOHN JAMES, FRIEND OF ANNA NICOLE SMITH: I was freaked out. I couldn't believe it. I thought it was the most unbelievable thing I had ever heard. It was from a journalist.
COOPER: To many outsiders, you know, watching from afar, she seemed at times out of control or not fully in charge of all that was happening around her. Is that an accurate perception? Is that the woman you knew?
JAMES: No. It's not the woman I knew.
Just to give you the back story on this, they approached Howard and Anna, looking for something to do. They invested in the movie. They wanted to do a comedy spoof. And everything was going along great. She was on the set. Daniel was involved. It was fun. We were laughing.
And then about September of 2005, when the Supreme Court announced that they were going hear her case, for the last, what, nine, 10 months, 11 months, it's just been one thing after another.
And when I was visiting her with my family in the Bahamas on Labor Day weekend, she's just a -- just a terrific, kind, wonderful person. And she was so great with my kids. And she's -- there's the public persona and the private. And her private persona is very, very different. Her house was immaculate inside.
COOPER: We just heard her saying on an earlier "LARRY KING" broadcast that she couldn't trust people around her. Did you see that? Did she talk about that?
JAMES: I think that I -- she never spoke to me specifically about that, but my wife and her became very close friends. They e- mailed back and forth all the time.
And I think that -- I don't know -- we just were friends. Maybe she realized that I just liked her, and my kids liked her. And she was great to them on the set. And maybe that's why we got along.
COOPER: Jennifer, you met Anna Nicole back in the early '90s through "Playboy." You saw her at the Playboy Mansion. What was she like back then?
JENNIFER SAGINOR, AUTHOR, "PLAYGROUND: A CHILDHOOD LOST INSIDE THE PLAYBOY MANSION": Back then, she was really -- I remember coming home from college, and everyone was talking about this really hot woman. And she was sort of new on the scene. And I was just sort of surprised, because she was sort of -- she sort of broke the mold of what I had been used to seeing, these -- she was very voluptuous, and just the way she was sort of this throwback to the '50s pinup girl type.
And she was -- her personality, I think, is really what drew a lot of people to her. She was so down to earth and friendly.
(CROSSTALK)
SAGINOR: She was like -- had this country girl sort of...
COOPER: Because a lot of women become, you know, "Playboy" Playmates, but they don't end up with long careers, or certainly not in the spotlight. What do you think it was that separated Anna Nicole Smith?
SAGINOR: It's her -- for sure, her personality. I think so.
I mean, and also, I mean, she really did have that -- I mean, that -- she did resemble Marilyn Monroe in many ways, just her physique and her -- just that whole -- she did have that glamorous, voluptuous sort of appeal to her, and whereas most -- during that time, especially, all these supermodels were super skinny. And it was that whole heroin chic look.
And I think that her personality, and vibrant, and just being such that country girl , really, it was refreshing to Hollywood. I think so.
COOPER: John, knowing what you know about her, the contact you had, what do you think happened to her?
JAMES: I can't -- I don't know. I know she was very, very, very upset with Daniel's loss.
I spoke to her probably 10 days ago. And she was still upset. She was in a hotel room in Florida, upset about the fact that she couldn't leave the hotel, because everybody would scream, "Anna, Anna, Anna," and then there would be a big scene.
I don't know. I'm not going to speculate on that. I just -- we will miss her as a friend.
COOPER: Well, John, again, I'm sorry for your loss.
And -- and, Jennifer Saginor, appreciate you talking today.
Thank you very much, both of you. Appreciate it.

howie dearest is always busy creating subtle revisions in history - he’s not a real smart guy - or maybe his arrogance gets in the way of his smarts...
for him to claim no recall of events that happened only a year ago (that had to have been emotionally charged and therefore, very rememberable) and yet reach back and throw up ‘1977’ in an attempt to impress, (and deflect the asked question) shows a little of his game.
same with his claim of no substantiating paperwork (or even work history) in the depo, when he HAD to have submitted Something, some evidence, some statement, some billing, just weeks ago in his filing to the probate court to justify to the court his claim against the estate of Anna.
imo
Six Percent sounds more like a real estate commission! HA!
always happy to see you! :) how’s the peterson case going?
poor little DL - Opri rejecting a settlement offer (good for her) gets press, and to deflect it and gain sympathy, we get little DL on primetime sporting an eye patch with over-dramatic voiceovers?? I feel sorry for DL, exploited over and over and over.
And the idea that Larry's buddies with the adversary...that galls me even worse.
Dannielynn: Poor kid...Not just exploited...Larry just plain lied...Normal life at "My Old Kentucky Home". Yeh, right...
I imagine Dannielynn petting horses, climbing the rail fence and "Grandma, pick me up"...just like when she raised Danny. I hope there's JUSTICE FOR ALL in the end.
The 6% is attached to the Marshall Estate monies only. I think WHEN the agreement was made is important.
If it's after she got the $474 mil judgement but before the $88 mil, it's somehow void.
I believe the $88 mil was confiscated by the court because there were so many claims against her.
Remember, in essense, Howard is going after Larry's money tree. I wonder how Larry feels about it. Betrayed? Dumb sucker!!
***hows the peterson case going?**
That case, like so many others that need resolution, is fading from front page news coverage.
As in the ANS cases, we depend on the criminal justice system to thoroughly investigate and prosecute. I hope it warrants our faith.
