Six years ago today 19 terrorists and a movement called Al Qaeda decided to declare war on America. They struck the first blow at 8:45 am in New York City by attacking the Twin Towers with planes as cruise missiles. Then word came at 9:43 the Pentagon had been hit...as that news sinks in we get word of another hijacked plane heading towards Washington...that plane was Flight 93 it crashed outside a sleepy little town in Pennsylvania called Shanksville little did the world know that American passengers on Flight 93... fought the first counter-offensive of the coming war and WON!!
We answered that movement called Al Qaeda in the coming months and years...with many of their leaders killed or captured.....and the war goes on.
Today we honor and remember all those brave souls who went to work that beautiful sunny Sept. morning....and never returned home that night.
God bless them and God bless America.

I’m relating to you with the job issues.
I am now doing the work of 4 people along with my own.
No pay increase, and thanks to the dems the incentive budget no doubt will have disappeared also.
On the up side, I hit 30 years on the 15th of Aug.
We have been told our budget is being cut in HALF across the board.
Someone is going to have to learn the word “No”, lickety split.

My sister is coming up this weekend to help make some urgent, but necessary changes to Mom’s will. My oldest sister has finally flipped her lid and we need to get her removed as executor before its too late.
I want to let you know that I have been making that Hummingbird cake on a regular basis.
Between smoking my meats and making that cake, we are all going to have to go on some pretty severe diets soon.

Squeezed a few mins of free time into my schedule tonite to visit with you all on this most sacred day of mourning for our great country.
USMA lost another graduate this month to the war on terror. I salute all of those brave men and women in all of the services who have fought so valiently for OUR freedom.
Hope all of you are doing well. Offering prayers for those who need them.
Things have been crazy hectic here. Some financial issues rearing up and then one of my sisters contacted the town regarding the “Health and Welfare” of my Mom. This forced a “Violation” notice against Mom regarding the pool in the back yard. I had get it all demo’d and now we are working on trying to find “clean fill” to put in the big empty space. The inspector comes next friday to “inspect”. What burns my arse about the whole thing is that 3 years ago i tried to get them all to send a few $$ so I can get this done but no one could be bothered. In the interim I found out most of them are under the impression that I am living here “rent-free” and therefore feel it’s my “responsibility and duty” to get things in order. feh on them.
R has gone back to school and I couldn’t be any prouder of her. She is working full time and taking classes in the mornings and the evenings. 3 nights a week I “co-babysit” for Mr. Zaybot. He is the light of my life and getting so big and grown up. He’ll be 16 months on the 13th..can’t believe the time has passed so quickly.
Mom is the same, well for the most part...and she’ll never change.
Maybe when they hire someone full time to fill one or two of the vacant positions, i’ll be able to come back and post more.
I keep trying to say “no” diplomatically, but it is falling on deaf ears. I’ve worked 12 hours today, and I worked 15 hours yesterday. Unfortunately if I worked 50 hours a day, the project wouldn’t get done. :(
You are a wonderful daughter....and from what I read....a great cook too....god bless all daughters and daughters-in-laws...bet you are a great Granny too....Or Maw..
I am on the 2nd day of a new diet.....one like Toby’s ...nothing white....and I miss my potatoes!!!
I have a meeting here at the house in a few days and have already warned the gals and guy attending that if they want “good” snacks...to bring’em....I will have carrot sticks and celery...yuck...
