> Britney missed a huge opportunity here. She could have come out on stage in a frilly white dress and sung some nice heart-felt ballads, and kick-started an entirely new phase to her career. She is simply not going to be able to run on the slut-track anymore. This should be good news to her, but she keeps denying it. Maybe she could have gone for the Faith Hill semi-slut look. She could have pulled that off. But underwear and fishnets should be a thing of her past.

That's an excellent point -- this would have been the place to move ahead, to leave the slut-track behind. Now, having tried to keep going on the old track and failed publicly, if she does drop it, it will be seen as an admission of defeat, rather than a positive choice.

Perhaps we have indeed seen the death of her career. If she can recover from this, it'll be a surprise. I hope for her sake (and her kids' sake) that she pulls it off -- otherwise she'll spiral downward into oblivion almost immediately.

If she hadn’t performed at this show, she might possibly have done well with her new CD. Now, however, it may bomb as well.

They have the video posted over at the indispensible HotAir.com. This thing was a train wreck.
