Very purty tree. I’ll try to get a picture of ours soon. Now complete with cat ruining yet another “velvet” tree skirt.
In other newz, nayberhood cookie exchange is tomorrow night. Deal is wimmin take 6 dozen of their “favorite” Christmas cookie and they trade around the table so everyone goes home with an assortment.
Challenge here is that Mrs. is out of town and didn’t get cookies baked. So I made up a recipe, so to speak.
I’m doing chocolate cookies from a cake mix and putting a candy cane Hershey’s Kiss in the middle. They’re right tasty, but I’m having trouble getting the kisses not to melt. I’ve put them in the freezer to see if that will help.
Second batch was better than the first. The first melted enough that the kissed looked not unlike nipples.
Any suggestions?
When are you putting the kisses on? 'Cause you can wait and put 'em on just as they come out of the oven, or not long before. That's how we used to do peanut butter cookies with a Hershey's Kiss. Or is that what you're already doing?
... and what was wrong with that?
I thought that you baked the cookies, and put on the Hershey’s Kiss after they came out of the oven, but before they’d cooled too much, so they would sit right down in the middle of the cookie. I haven’t seen the candy cane Hershey’s Kisses. Are they minty? I’ll have to look for them at the grocery store.
Eat the first batch.
And that's why I'm not baking cookies this year...
