The Hobbit Hole XXXIV - But better than rain or rippling streams...
Posted on 08/07/2007 7:52:15 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

So, I spent most of the evening editing this
video.
It's in wmv format like I've always used. But I can't get it to upload to YouTube. It says the file format isn't valid.
It's the same program I've used before, same format.
Thoughts?

It's from
Kiltmen.com. Bravehearts in Kilts Against Trouser Tyranny. I'm most amused by the notion of a "utilikilt" which is a kilt with pockets (see model below).

You know, that thought crossed my mind. But I did some Googling and lots of people are having trouble uploading wmv files. I just haven’t found their solution.

In other newz, unless there’s another hurricane, my blog hits will go back to my regular 150-ish a day.
I hit over 3,200 on Saturday.

So during
last night' storm I heard tree branches cracking and kept waiting for the dreaded sound of them falling in my yard, or worse, on my house. I never heard that sound.
Apparently, that was because my roof broke its fall...

I’d have thought you’d have heard that, before you heard them hit the ground...
You have damage? What’s with all these storms?
To: Corin Stormhands
Corin, no!
What's the damage to your roof??

So does that mean that you’re going to have a nice view next time you go up to ~the attic~?

Right now I don’t ~think~ there’s any major damage. It’s only part of a hugh limb that’s ~resting~ on the roof. I’ve got to get the tree guys out to take care of it though.
After I yell at Comcast again, I’m going to call my insurance agent just in case.
But it doesn’t look like anything came through the roof.
Ironically about 10 year ago, we spent $600 to have a cable put on to hold this limb up. (taking the tree out was going to be around $2,000). The part held by the cable is still there. It’s what grew beyond it that broke off.

Whats with all these storms? This is the worst summer I've seen for ~non-hurricane~ storms.
And I have a nagging feeling that we're due for one of those.

Well hopefully there’s no damage. That’s all you need!
We’re getting more rain... it’s a strange summer.
To: HairOfTheDog
I’m trying to decide if it’s going to be light enough rain today to warrant riding in. :-\
To: RosieCotton
Can’t tell ya... I don’t know what it’s going to do.
To: Corin Stormhands
You know if’n it was us, we’d have pictures....
To: HairOfTheDog
Accuweather just says 50% chance, pretty much all day. Which for here...probably means it’ll rain 50% of the time.
But I think I’m gonna chance it. Here goes nothing...
To: HairOfTheDog
As far as I can tell, there’s no ~significant~ damage. It doesn’t look like it punched a hole in the roof.
