I do like the John Denver Christmas album that has mostly traditional / older Christmas tunes. Silent Night and all those, and also a few like “White Christmas”.
It's more nostalgia than anything else, but...woooohoooooo!
$14.99
A really good version...the recording was made about 45 years ago, and is one of the first LP sets my parents owned...I bought the CDs a couple years ago.
Cool - thanks for the tip!
And good evening!
just in case anyone’s counting...

I have a couple of guys working here in my house on a remodeling project. Naturally, I could have done the work myself, but there were complications. . . thats another story. It starts with a sinking roof joists and ends . . . about there too.
Anyway, one of the guys on the job deployed to Kuwait with my ad hoc construction detachment, and they just got back in October. I just happened to be observing (from where my wife drew with chalk and told me to stay the hell on THAT side of the line) and saw him whip out a Camillus knife to open something. Yep. He said its been beat to hell, but the knife still works. He said most of the troops used the knives you sent them almost everyday. He saw more than a few broken Gerbers, but as far as he knows, not one of the knives you sent got busted.
Just thought youd like to know. Thanks again!
Hey - very cool winmag... thanks :~)
I'm excited because this year a friend and I are going to take part in a "Sing it Yourself Messiah". I've done that a couple of times, and it was a lot of fun. Now I've got to dig the box out of the trailer that has my score in it!
Nice to have that happen.
Only 7 more shows? Looks like you’re on the downslope for this year! Then you’re FREE!!
Oh, I LOVED that Christmas special!
Trust in this.... the first one you sent too me I gave to my brother the Pararescueman (PJ) who carried it on 2 tours over there , still does in his retirement civilian job that takes him into same arena’s.
You and your crew did good....real good. And again no proper thanks is possible for what ya’ll did for us........but , thanks for your efforts !
Mine is used in some form or manner every day.........:o)
Thank You Sir !
Stay safe !
That’s a great story, winmag! I’m proud that we’ve been able to do something special for the guys!
Oops! I see it’s now SIX more shows. KEWL!
This wasn’t the cartoon - this was something done in the 50s. Not sure the video even exists anymore. But we wore the LP out, pretty much. And the cover was more tape than cardboard.
It had that same picture!
Cool story! Thanks for sharing it with us!
No, it's the other way around. Even these knives are an inadequate thanks for what you guys have done, and are doing. It's just the best we can do when we don't have millions of dollars, and tons of political pull, to call on.
And to think it all started out when 2J got an email from a friend of a friend about a chaplain in Afghanistan because his flock was in dire straits after their improvised PX burned down. While everyone else dove in with socks, underwear, personal care items, and home cooking, I hit upon knives (and later, other kinds of hardware) for some more "durable" expression of our gratitude.
One Soldier wrote that while he was grateful for the eight dozen pairs of socks, and the case of tuna under his bunk, a good knife was the perfect item that could be carried everywhere. It just fills a hole in the average GI's inventory of personal equipment.
Funny that they have the same picture. Didn’t Walter Matthau play the “Stingiest Man” in the cartoon?
