“Forget it, it’s cold, it’s getting late/ Trudge on home to celebrate”
Heh...I don’t know that one, so I looked it up.
I can kind of identify. ;-)
I’m actually rather dreading the trip and all. :-\ I like my routines. And my known routes and known locations.
Okay. I don’t know that one, either. I appear to be culturally deficient where Christmas novelty tunes are concerned...
Ungh got to do Christmas shopping.
I am considering whether to get my brothers a set of multi sided dice and Dungeons and Dragons manuals. Not sure whether the mom-freak-out-potential is high enough there.
I’m surprised you don’t know that one.
It’s such a small world after all...
I do, however, know things like “Merry Christmas from the Family”, though I kinda wish I didn’t...
I think it might be better than “It’s a Small World.”
Ya know...when we were little, my parents gave us a music box that played that. Were they trying to scar us for life? You’d think I’d have ended up with that as the background track to my whole life...
One of the local stations here plays Christmas music 24/7 from Thanksgiving through Christmas Day.
“I want a hippopotamus for Christmas” is one of the more annoying ones.
I realllllly don’t like the new version of “I’m Getting Nothing For Christmas”, and it seems like that’s getting played everywhere you go.
The station I mostly listen to doesn’t do Christmas music, except streaming on their website. I’m sure there are some FReepers who would decide to give ‘em a hard time for that, but it works for me. I have too many preferences where Christmas music is concerned. ;-) Not to mention that few things get older faster than bad Christmas novelty tunes. I wouldn’t mind NEVER hearing “Grandma Got Run Over” again.
Yes but there’s a new “must have” toy out this season. It’s a stuffed reindeer in a rocker that rocks and plays “Grandma got run over by a reindeer.”
I’m debating between that and the Charlie Brown skating pond that plays “Christmastime.”
*shudder*
And now I have "Merry Christmas from the Family" completely stuck in my head. Don'twannit.
That's the best part of the picture!
Heh. SirKit and I bought those for Paul when he was in the 6th grade. He’d gone to a summer program and the teacher had them playing a fantasy game, “Space Marines” or something like that. We bought them, not only because he was interested in role-playing games, but to encourage him to read more. Boy, did THAT ever do the trick! He ended up an English major in college, and went on to Law School! And he’s STILL interested in role-playing games. He and his friends get together every other week or so to play Warhammer. He paints the figurines and terrain and all that!
Does it have to be D&D? There’s lots of other stories out there.
Ungh. I’m ten minutes from goin’ home. Well, grocery shopping and then home. Ungh.
Can I trade places with you?
Four and a half more hours...
Tho, word just came thru: Pres. Bush just gave the Fed employees Christmas Eve off. Wahoo!
I’ll be in SF for Christmas Eve. Wish I was more excited about it. :-\ I mean...I *do* want to see the new nephew, but...
Mmm, D&D is a nice versatile system and the only one I have any experience with.
Yeah, but yer guranteed to see a "jolly ol' elf" if'n yuh know whut I mean...maybe even the Christmas Queen...
