What are your walls like? Can you just tack up some cheapo curtain rods? If there’s a discount store you might find something. Or, worst come to worse, get some cheap fabric, finish the ends, and nail the top end down. Then just add some ties that you can use to fasten the curtain to itself when you want the window open.
There ya go... Hope it’s not tampax or Hemorrhoid creme that takes you up on it. ;~)
LOL!!
I requested Chick-fil-A and Wendys.
Mmmm...
My walls are...cardboard. Well...cheap fiberboard. If I can find the studs, I’d probably be able to tack some sort of rods up...
Maybe I’ll check the hardware store to see how much those’d be. Ace might even have ‘em. I like Ace.
my recommendation to you, is tuh start drinkin’... heavily...
Don’t forget Value Village for cheap heavy drapes.
Whoa - that is a text message no one wants to get. Sorry to hear about it. It appears others have suggested Bourbon, that appears appropriate. The good news, of course, is JR wasn’t hurt in the wreck. OB & LSA
Hastens the day when you can get that bit of land! ;o)
3M makes a great product. We use it to cover our windows. After questionable installation to begin with, and twenty years of use, you can feel the cold air coming through around the window frames. The kit consists of double stick tape and the clear film. You put the tape around the window frame, attach the film, then use a blow dryer on hot to shrink the plastic to the window. Works like a charm!
Just a little something she saw in the window. ;o)
Those would be perfect. :~)
Uh...yeah.
Well, they do look warm!
Heh...considering my window frames...that may not work. But I think I’ll check for it just the same! That must be what my sister-in-law was talking about.
I've had plenty of experience with it, and it's actually a plastic shrink wrap.
You put down double-sided sticky tape around the window frame, and then stretch the plastic over it as tightly as possible. After that, you shrink it with a hair dryer.
The main purpose of the shrinkwrap is to prevent heat loss through the glass itself. It won't do anything about air gaps in the wall, but at least you can see through it. It actually looks pretty good, except it seems to have a slight haze to it when shrunk.
Any idea how much it typically costs?
I’d think that with the double stick tape, you could even attach the tape to the wall around the window, and then stretch the plastic across the window.
