Harumph. They can have my paper books when they pry them from my cold, dead fingers.

Considering I just spent half an hour at a typewriter, though, I’m thinkin’ I’m probably not really the sort Amazon has in mind for the doohickey anyhow.

My thoughts exactly - especially since you don’t have to turn a book off when you fly on an airplane. Most of my trips are 2 book-ers. Read one on the flight out, and read one on the flight back. I’ve had a couple four book trips where I had to re-stock while I was there. There are three types of things marked on every map of every town to which I travel: great restaurants, Walmarts, and bookstores. :)

And I don’t like the idea of a book that might run out of juice before I’m done, ya know? Or lose the story if I drop it.

Books are low maintenance. I prefer them that way.

I'll be far better positioned to tighten thumb screws and enjoy their squirming over a much longer period of time than a momentary, flash-in-the-pan PHOOEY ON YOU GUYS during an exit interview.

Oh, good point!

I off! Going to get me paycheck!

Man, I love this daily pay setup! Fax in my time slip when I get home from work, go to bed, wake up and go get my money!

It’s deluxe!

I think I’ll swing by Walmart on the way home and pick up a pound of their hotwings!

*snort* I don’t think I ‘d like that. I’m into Large Print books these days. ;o)

Does the ‘daily pay’ thing allow for Direct Deposit? That way you wouldn’t even have to go pick up the check!

Yeah, after a while, just about anything gets to the point where you’ve enjoyed it about as much as you can stand.

No...I wish it did!

My hospital pay will be direct deposit, though. They don’t have anything else. No one gets a check, you have to do direct deposit.

I’m having a portion taken out and put into the credit union. A savings account.

A savings account.

What a bright sunny day it is outside!!

See ya!

Ungh...got my first real winter electric bills.

I don’t like winter electric bills.

There are definite downsides to living in a drafty cardboard box...

Yeah - we got ours too :~\ At least it’s just a few months of this, right?

I guess...but it’s still painful.

I’m thinking of checking Home Depot this evening...or soon, anyhow. My sister-in-law claims there’s some sort of cling film type stuff that helps insulate windows. Considering I can feel cold air coming from some of the outside walls, there’s a limit to how much that would help, but even if it’s just a bit...hey, might be worth it!

You might be able to improve it a bit if you could seal up the big gaps where air comes through ;~)

Ya think maybe if I covered the entire surface of the outer wall in duct tape, it’d help?
