The Hobbit Hole XXXIV - But better than rain or rippling streams...
Posted on 08/07/2007 7:52:15 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

We got a map. It looked clear to me.
Hmm, considering you have a month to go you seem a little nervous.

Who? Me? No. Not much. A little. Fairly. But not really. It’s all good. It’s in 32 days. There’s plenty of time. It’s right around the corner. There it is. What? Nervous? Ha-ha-haha I don’t ha know what you’re on about, haha. Nervous is for ninnies. I’m not a ninny, right? Didn’t think so.

Mmm...pie.
I’m having a hard time with tonight’s writing. It’s one thing writing icky stuff from an icky character’s perspective...it’s another to write icky stuff from the point of view of a character who, though he’s had a relatively hard life, is still rather sweet and innocent in some ways.
I’m hating myself for putting him through this...ack!

I will lay on extra souther when I an trying to establish my redneck cred or deny really being from Iowa. Now that I have lived here just days shy of 7 years I have to admit I really am from Iowa now :P I've lived in Florida for 7 years, but I'm not 'from' here.

I just had my heroine in short order kill someone, see someone she cares for die, and acknowledge her estranged father.
Ok, so “finding bloody corpse in great detail” probably counts more.

Yah. Especially since he’s driving home right now feeling angry with her because he hasn’t been able to get in touch with her.
I think the rest will need to wait until after dinner...

If’n it makes you feel any better, Jr. has to work from 4:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at one job on Friday, then he goes in at 4:00 p.m. until ? on the other one...
He’s turning in a notice to one of them that day. I don’t know which one.
To: JenB
FWIW I did
spend the last hour composing two emails about 1) why we're dropping out of one all cast scene and 2) why Not Valerie and I are not playing a certain scene the way the director wants us to. So, there's that.
To: Corin Stormhands
Well hey...good fer you!
This is proving to be the hardest scene I’ve ever written. Period. I’m thinking it may require bourbon or sumpin. If I don’t see it from the character’s point of view, I can’t sketch it at all, but if I *do*...well, it’s too much to take in.
