The Hobbit Hole XXXIV - But better than rain or rippling streams...

Posted on 08/07/2007 7:52:15 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Well...that’s....erm...adventurous.

But Frodo and Bilbo adventures were a little more what I had in mind.

Ew.

Yes, we’re going to watch it first...but it’s only a two day rental so they might not get a chance to watch it this time around even if I feel like they can.

Gosh, can you believe the price of milk? When I get my new car, it really may be cost effective to run to Claremore for the dairy milk there...it’s only $3.25! Can you believe it? Raw less expensive than storebought?

Yes, we did see The Dummy. It WAS a very good movie. Adrian Brophy is a versatile actor.

Did you see where I posted that it’s 83 degrees in my house? I’m trying to save money on our AC bill, which can get huge. I have found that if I don’t move around much and keep the ceiling fans on full blast and don’t cook anything, I can bear 83 degrees.

I turn it down to 76 at night.

I liked all the quirky characters! It did have a lot of language (thanks to Milla Jovovich’s character...), but...oh well.

I’m just realizing...I’m not gonna get home with my card (for pizza orderage) until just after six. Should I give it to you before I head out here? Or is it OK that we start things off that late?

ecurbh doesn’t get home till after then anyway... and my friend Lisa is coming by tonight... her partner’s teenage son was in a bad wreck with a broken pelvis, among other things, and among other things, she needed me to pick up a handicapped commode for her today so he can come home this weekend. She’s coming to pick it up tonight.

I don’t know if she’s really going to have time to sit and visit, but I don’t think we’ll have much uninterrupted time tonight. We might maybe put it off till tomorrow? I mean... I guess we’ll be eating something somewhere... just might have to play it by ear.

Yeah - she was up at Harborview in Seattle. Bad things get sent to Harborview. The news reports about bad things always say “______ got airlifted to Harborview at the end of them.

He was on a motorcycle and got hit by a truck. I think the truck was probably the winner.

Hard thing for a teenage kid. Hope he can get around when school starts.
