The Hobbit Hole XXXIV - But better than rain or rippling streams...

Posted on 08/07/2007 7:52:15 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

The best part is the 70 foot zip line on the back side. We have one end up, but needed to order another piece of cable because our tree was too big around. The cable should be here today or Monday after which time we will take more pictures.

The grass looks great!

Dadgum! The kids are getting SO big; so is Gunner. That’s a great playhouse. I predict many hours of fun times there!

Very nice treehouse!

...

Is it a coincidence that it looks like a deer blind?

Convenient, that.

Got the block layed out and leveled and the frame built. Layed out the floor and as soon as I get over my second heat stroke of the day, I'm goin' back out to nail that in place. Hope to at least get one wall assembled, if not up today.

Really glad to hear about your seasonally correct color scheme you picked for your hillside.

The treehouse looks great - a true multipurpose structure. Congrats to whole construction team.

Looks to me like there’s enough room to effectively use a bow or the atl-atl on the front porch. :-)

Is it time to send in Homer and Gidget to give Barkley a time out?

SirKit and Joseph are ripping plywood for the new kitchen cabinets. WooHoo! It was a good day to do inside work. It was up to 92 this afternoon, but a storm just rolled through, so it has cooled off nicely. They had to get outside earlier to cover up the holes Paul made last weekend on Gimli. He was starting the digging for the footing for the new deck. Got most of the ones for the lower deck dug. We just had to cover them so they wouldn’t fill with water!

They seem pretty pleased that Barkley has diverted so much of Cisco's attention! :~)
