The Hobbit Hole XXXIV - But better than rain or rippling streams...

Posted on 08/07/2007 7:52:15 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

It just don’t seem right that someone would discover a goat with that trait...and then purposely try to breed that trait into future generations. Ya know?

Oh, I dunno. I can be a pretty useful skill to have at the appropriate moment.

What?...Oh...you said fainting...nevermind...

People who don't read the Hobbit Hole might wonder why I have a pic of a fainting goat saved away...

I’ve forgotten! Why do you have a picture of a fainting goat saved away?

Because, of course, the subject has come up before! ;-)

Ha! Go figure.

Is there anything we haven’t yet discussed??

I'm beginning to think there isn't...

We may have discussed everything, but we certainly haven't settled everything...

It’s like a flat cornbread...

Don’t be silly. Cornbread crumbles too easily.

But if we settled everything, what would we have left to discuss?

Well fortunately (or not) some of us are getting to the age that it won’t matter if it’s been settled, ‘cause we won’t remember it anyway.

But it’s creamy colored inside...and cornbread wouldn’t travel well.

I still vote some superbly nutritious version of springerle...

Speaking of travel...tomorrow I guess I should probably show you where the cats’ stuff is. They should be fine on their own for the most part, but I’d feel better if someone looked in on ‘em once or twice.

Do you guys have a key to my place? I can probably run to Ace after work if not.

I think we do have a key, but we should confirm that tomorrow.

I’ll be in Seattle for the day... home by afternoon.

OK...I won’t be around until evening anyhow.

I’m debating whether or not I should ride. I detest having to deal with traffic at this point, but it does take longer. Ugh.

Algea formations. The relative merits of silly putty. Antinomisism. How to serve panda.
