Well, getting rid of that couch was the right thing to do. He kept talking me into keeping it saying we’d just keep it till we could get a new one.
But frankly, that’s never going to happen and even if it did we’d have to get rid of something else to have it really fit in there, which would just upset him too because he never likes getting rid of anything even if it’s falling apart.
His recliner came undone at the seams where his back is. I put a throw over it and told him if I ever see that undone spot again, the recliner’s going too. I mean really...the loveseat is like two attached recliners...he’d live. But he just swells all up...he’s gotta keep a piece of crap even when it’s not got any meaning to us personally and it’s falling apart.
~sigh~
He’s a packrat, he admits it. I have got to be ruthless sometimes or we’d be swallowed up.
Heh heh!
I dunno...I try to be reasonable, but I’ve made some pretty major mistakes. Like the Saab Story. His 1966 Saab. It was in great condition, just needed some repair...
I called a junkyard guy and had it hauled off one day.
I tell myself that “reasonably” we couldn’t lug around that car every time we moved...it was ten years before we had a shop we could put it in and actually work on it. We can hardly afford to buy parts that are still being MADE for the Beetle, much less parts for an old Saab!
Still, in the back of my mind, I wish I hadn’t gotten rid of it.
*ahem*
Heehee, the worst my parents talk about was the time my mother taped over a data tape that Dad had programs stored on with kids music. And then a couple weeks later he accidentally threw away her big bag full of quilting scraps. They often debate over whether the two incidents were related.
We need to de-frap our house, it can’t take any more stuff. Oh well. After this weekend we’ll have time.
mmmmmm...de-frap...

Ooops...did I say that outloud?
;o)
Obviously your carbon buttprint is too big.
I’ll fax a copy of it to you so you can share some of your credits.
Ask Rosie, she’s racking up all those bike commuting hours.
Yeah, but she’s in a green state. I’m not sure about the exchange rate.
Make-your-own carbon credits are worth less than the imported-from-a-third-world type?
We *may* hit 70 here today...
'Oh Thou That Tellest Good Tidings To Zion, Arise!'.
Wow, it feels 15 degrees cooler here!
I didn’t ride today. Slackin’ off. I’m a lazy bum.
And I’ve spent the whole day wanting malt balls. I actually dreamed last night that I bought a HUGH bag of Maltesers (British malt balls) and then someone took ‘em before I got to eat any.
*snif*
Aphids causing sticky problems for Missourians (and even those in Perfect Village.) :-)
Experts are not sure why the tiny insects are so abundant this year, but the Conservation Department has advice for getting rid of them.
JEFFERSON CITY-If your car and patio furniture seem to be getting dirty faster than usual these days, it isn't your imagination. Experts with the Missouri Department of Conservation say the sticky situation is caused by tiny insects, and they offer advice for getting rid of the messy bugs.
Forest Entomologist Rob Lawrence says Conservation Department offices around the state have received dozens of calls asking why trees are dropping tiny droplets of sap all over vehicles, homes and anything else below. He is telling those callers that the culprit is not trees, but aphids.
OT: check out the whole article. It's linked to our freeze in April.
