Yikes! I guess that’s one reason to be careful with my live trapping the cats idea ;~)

I hear you out there mowin’ rocks...

I’m not the rock mower this time...it’s a guy over at the store.

My rocks do need mowing, though. *sigh*

Ugh, you should see our jungle.

It might be dry enough to mow, this weekend.

I got my passport today so I guess we can go to Japan in October :)

Beat me to it by 18 minutes!!

A very serious study pointing out what are considered moral failures in the Harry Potter universe, according to the author, as inspired by Pope Benedict.

And I must again ask, "Why me, O Lord?"

Heh, we just rolled in to the abode about 1/2 hour ago. Pictures are gonna have to wait until the afternoon. It was a fun visit; SirKit enjoyed meeting you!

We went on down to VA Beach that evening, and stayed in the most awful motel room we've ever been in. I knew Day Inns are not the Ritz, but this one advertised wireless internet in the rooms. NOT. Couldn't get it in the room, then when we went to breakfast the following morning, SirKit found out that it was $11 to sign on. No thanks! We'd gotten the smoking room, cause it was the only king bed available. It wasn't so much that the room smelled like smoke, but there were cigarette burns everywhere! Folks just put the burning smoke down anywhere that was horizontal, I guess. It was a dirty room, and had bugs in it. Altogether a nasty experience.

But we did get to spend the following afternoon with SirKit's nephew and family in Richmond, so that was nice. My brother called us and offered to let us stay at his place again, and we jumped at the chance, after the motel experience the night before! So anyway, we just made it home. I'll catch up on the thread and post pictures later!

There is *nothing* worse than a rancid hotel room. I’m shuddering in sympathy. Glad you had a nice trip otherwise!

Maybe it’s that sign you wear around your neck that says “Hassle me! Please!”

I think that was the worst, most over the top article I’ve ever read. On anything.

Well, that’s quite a statement, there’s a lot of competition in the “over the top” category! (I didn’t read it... ;~D)

Good morning everyone!

All told, it is the grandest trans-cultural event of epic proportions in the history of mankind, rivaled only by the Bible. I use the word rivaled with some consideration, not only because of the impact of the series on the modern world, but also because of the worldview it so powerfully implants in its devotees. In short, the series is a kind of anti-Gospel, a dramatized manifesto for behavior and belief embodied by loveable, at times admirable, fictional characters who live out the modern ethos of secular humanism to its maximum parameters

I don't even know what that guy is talking about.

Glad you made it home safely. Sorry the Virginia Beach accommodations were not more hospitable. You could have stayed on the beach at the Hilton four about $338 per night...

I enjoyed our visit.

Ungh...I guess I’ll read it, but I’ve read some of the author’s books and he’s a lousy writer, IMO, with no understanding of human beings. And a little paranoid to boot.
