The Hobbit Hole XXXIV - But better than rain or rippling streams...

Posted on 08/07/2007 7:52:15 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Yup, I think we have it back as well. Quite a surprise IMHO.

Do you guys have any ideas for shuttle type dealies from this area to SeaTac? I’m just realizing I’m down to not much more than two weeks until I head home, and that seems like it’d be a good option, but I don’t know the names of any of ‘em to check out and schedule.

I haven’t seen enough of her to detest her...but after last season, I’m not sure I’m that excited about 24 anyhow. Wonder if there’s any way at all they can pump life back into the thing.

There is either Capital Aeroporter - http://www.capair.com/ - or Black Hills Transportation, who don’t have a website, but would be in the phone book.

We’ve been planning on looking into them in the near future too, to see if it’s an affordable option for when Hair goes to Oklahoma.

Cool...that’s the sort of info I was looking for. I know I’ve seen the Capital Aeroporter vans down here, now I see the name. I’ll check ‘em out! I can let you know what kind of prices they quote me, if you’d like to know for Hair’s trip.

Honda makes a line of generaters designed for use with electronics - they have a built-in power conditioner. We got a 2000 W model for use up at the cabin. In the evenings we run one of our old laptops off of it and watch DVDs.

Heh... I don’t think we’re going to buy the computers their own generator :~) I think that would be compulsive :~)

Oh but it runs other stuff, too! Heh heh heh. Lights, tools, the radio, the coffeepot. I still do the cooking on my peak1, tho.

Ah - well we have the big one to do all that. So it would just be compulsive for us :~)

Steve took the Joshua to RAs and Matthew to ~gasp~ Youth Group.

I don’t have a hot tub but I do believe a hot soak with some tea is just what I’m gonna do while they’re gone.

Yup, saw that about "24" yesterday on FR, but I forgot to mention it here. Definitely a bad sign, perhaps even a death knell.

Lordy...what happened in that picture?

A fully-loaded and fueled C-5B left Dover AFB for Iraq in April 2006. Ten minutes into the flight, they declared an emergency, and attempted to return to the base. The aircraft crashed about a mile short of the runway in an area the base cleared of housing 'just in case'. All 17 passengers and crew survived, some with minor injuries. From some of the pictures, it looks like there was a fire in the engine that got torn off. The crash crew did a good job.

At the moment we turn off the machines and unplug the surge protectors from the wall if the power is getting iffy.

Heh. I did that last year before a storm...worked okay until I plugged the surge protector back in the next day. My computer power supply got fried, hence the new case, power supply, and motherboard mounting experience.

Hi, folks, good to see you. My ‘France shifts its stance on the conflict in Iraq’ thread got over 1000 hits, which is probably a record for me.

By the way, suppose Garafalo is playing a comic actress who uses her prestige to attack Jack Bauer’s organization, as part of a leftwing attack machine, and as a result, the country suffers a massive nuclear attack, in which Garofalo’s character is killed, while screaming that she had caused the attack due to her hate of the US.

Well — maybe not, but they do have a lot of guest villains!
