Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
I leave the food out on the porch all night. I can see them come up, sometimes, if I’m watching from bed, but if I go out there, they run off.
Been thinking about getting some of those live traps and trapping them. Put them in the back room till their gentled, maybe see if I can get a feral charity case spay neuter rate someplace.
Yeah...this was a different one, then. Almost entirely black.
I’d seen a black cat in the woods behind my house, so I figure it was that one.
Tough to know what to do about stray cats...stray dogs usually seek people out. Stray cats...are usually impossible to get near and mostly feral.
Enough stray dogs ought to solve the stray cat problem...
Sorry, that was heartless. I do know what you mean, the stray cats just don’t make good pets though. If I had no pets and a stray dog showed up I’d take him in a heartbeat but a stray cat? Probably not.
Who knows how many are out there... you can’t see them unless they want to be seen. Tweek seems to sortof have a relationship with a couple... I go out sometimes and they’re just sitting out there staring.
I think it might be a big family group because with all these cats around, I never hear any fighting.
I have a barn though, I don’t need them to be any more pet than they want to be.
You're just looking for cheap labor to do the work you own cats don't want to do. :)
Are there places that rent live traps, maybe?
Spay / neuter would be a good thing so there aren’t still more cats out there ending up dead on the road. :-\
I think you can probably get traps somewhere, I haven’t looked into it enough to know.
I think they sell them at dells, I’ve seen them there but haven’t paid attention to the price.
Can never have too many mousers if you live in the country :~)
Tam caught another mouse in the kitchen the other day.
*sigh*
I guess with the wet weather, they’re moving indoors early.
They’re just always around... there’s always a way to get in these places.
Have you looked at offshoring your mousework?
Are there cats in India who would do it for even less?
How does that work, exactly? ;~)
Just licking the parts American cats won't lick...
Ewwww!
Woo Hoo! Mootage is about to happen!
I’m meeting SuziQ and SirKit fer dinner in a bit. She’s gonna call here when they’re closer and I’m going to meet them at Cracker Barrel.
It’s just me though. Jr’s got Bible study. Mrs. is in Northern Virginia for work and Luke is in NC with Sister Mary Hamburner.
And yes, Rosie, I have the camera.
Ah - very fun! We’ll look forward to the pictures and report!
Say Hi for us!
Good!
Mmmmm...Cracker Barrel...I'm envious. Don't think they have those out here.
~Waves to Corin, SuziQ and SirKit~
