Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
~chuckling~
Aw...where’s your sense of adventure?
Heh. Just heard a bluegrass blues about repairing computers...something about getting some ram, opening the box, and ending up with a field of blue. Have to wait for the back announcement to get the song title.
You know...there are some free dial-up solutions in the area. They’re very slow, but they might work in such a situation, if my laptop battery actually worked.
Of course, that didn’t occur to me way back when. And phones were out for most of that time anyhow, weren’t they?
Bluegrass blue screen blues? Heh...that sounds pretty funny.
Battery powered laptop.
It’s on now, though...been going off and on for about an hour. This last time was the longest...bout a half hour.
Dang! He didn’t give the title!
Thank you!
I’m real excited with how it’s going...
I just bought the tag for this year for it...still a black tag, which means it isn’t road worthy and I don’t have to provide proof of insurance. Maybe and I hope next year we’ll get a regular roadworthy tag for it, because it’ll be running by then.
Yeah....especially since it sounded like one of those coal-mining songs only they were singing about ram chips and the Blue Screen of Death.
Yeah - I think the phone lines may have been down too... That cell phone dealie of yours was probably the only thing that would have worked.
This machine has a dialup modem in it... but we’d have to find service and remember how to start it up.
Think how exciting that’s going to be!
Excited about getting Oz yet?
Ugh, I feel sick again. Stomach ache and headache for the second day in a row.
The ideal would be something like Ramius’ little phone gadget - something with a data service instead of just what I have, which really doesn’t give you access to whole pages or anything.
Well, a few weeks back Steve just laid the floor pans into place to see what it would look like and I got so excited that I could hardly sleep all night.
Starting the thing up will definitely be a FMM moment! Heh heh! More than anything, I look forward to seeing if the horn works.
My stomach is a bit off today too...gonna have some ginger tea or something...
This rain is doing wonders for the new grass we planted where the old highlines were!
It has not, however, been good for my petunias. I pulled every the wet limp flower off them. It looks like a murder scene out there.... with a beagle in the middle of it.
I’ve seen the little tiny tiger cat around a few times...I can’t get near her either.
Ha! He looks like he’s thinking “I’m going to get blamed for this...I just know it” in a Marvin-depressed-robot voice.
There’s four that I know of... One that is calico probably who looks nearly brown, one little solid grey long haired who is around the most at night, the tiger grey, and an orange. There was a black and white for awhile, but I haven’t seen him lately.
The more food I put out, the more come out of the woodwork.
I think the black one got hit. :-\ I thought I saw a cat in the road about a week ago...it was gone when I was on my way home.
I tried to put some food out for the little tiger, but she never came back...but I shoulda known she had other sources. ;-)
Well that might be yet another one. The black and white I used to see was mostly white with just a little black.
