Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
Heh... go figure. :~)
Oh I fergot...Dave's not here...
I’m thinkin’ I should stop. I just got all excited opening up a Verizon bill ‘cause it was about 1/3 of what we usually pay for the four phones. Then I realized it was fer the Mrs.’ new wireless Internet connection...
Black-eyed peas....Check!
Collards....Check!
Champagne.....Check!
Well, that’s it.
I’ve got everything into four stacks.
1) filing (to be handled during tomorrow’s first annual viewing of the Tournament of Roses parade in HDTV)
2) handle immediately
3) medical bills
4) 2007 taxes
On to the Paths of the Dead...
LOL!
I'm just glad this Christmas was uneventful for you. ;o)
So Swarovski makes the glass for gunscopes, and they make gorgeous crystal beads? Who knew?
She does go back to Brazil to visit extended family, from time to time. Her parents run a home cleaning business in Brighton, and she was telling us about getting into Boston Latin School, and some of her parents' clients getting angry because she got in when THEIR kids didn't. Heh. Ah yes, the American Dream.
FYI, it’s kinda slippery out there in patches, in case you were going anywhere this morning. Icy places due to puddles freezing and such.
I do feel so much better, and the snakebite doesn’t even hurt that much today. I can get vertical much more quickly and with a lot less discomfort. I spent quite a bit of time on my feet yesterday, and I think that might have helped.
thelightshop.com is having a clearance sale.
Yeah - we found out how slippery it was on the way to the vets... pretty tricky out there, glare ice.
Very nice. You look very happy. May you have many years filled with joy.

We’re glad you are feeling better...and out of the hospital!

I didn’t realize just how slippery until I went to stop before pulling out of the parking lot by the store and my ABS kicked in.
I’m still not sure I like ABS brakes. They feel like you’re out of control. Ugh!
Did they have any other suggestions for Homer?
I’m thinking I need to take Tam in again for his eye. *sigh* Same sort of deal with him - they try different things every time I take him. I think most of the eye ointments work sort of, but it’s a real drag that it’s not something that will ever completely go away.
We’re still treating symptoms on Homer... Got more antibiotics. We don’t know what caused him to blow up, but I suspect the dog treats he got for Christmas. He was SOOO bad on Saturday, like his skin was literally falling apart and lots of puss and patches of hair coming off. We gave him medicated baths and some leftover antibiotics over the weekend so he was actually better today than he was. But that it’s a food allergy at all is still just a guess that seems to make the most sense, given ~where~ he’s breaking out. He got his whole back shaved so he now looks a little better and a little worse, at least we can clean up the infected area. And we showed the vet all the bottles of meds we’ve been giving him to make sure we weren’t killing him with a toxic soup.
So more antibiotics and antihistamines. If we can get him cleared up... great. If not, the vet may treat him for mange, even though he can’t find any mange on a scraping.
Well, I have a few New Years Resolutions this year...and I already accomplished one! Scratch “Put $1000.00 in the credit union savings account” off the list! Steve did that for me today!
My whole resolutions theme this year is “Be prepared. Be organized. Get and stay caught up.” So that was the first thing I wanted to do. Be prepared to pay for something expensive in case of an emergency so we don’t have to charge it, but have the cash hard to access so I don’t spend it.
I’ve attacked the goals with such gusto that I jumped the gun on the savings account resolution! LOL!!
