The Hobbit Hole XXXIV - But better than rain or rippling streams...

Posted on 08/07/2007 7:52:15 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Sadly, no. We’ll have to drive.
Funny: there was a display case in some airport I was in that had stuff in in taken from carryons... In there was the usual little stuff. Some knives, a sword. But also a chainsaw, a gallon of gas (for the saw, I suppose) and a brush-cutter trimmer sort of thing.

Somebody ~really~ tried to take those onboard? No way...

Well, that’s probly good to have in Brazil. I would think.

Checked baggage... I’ve checked guns and all sorts of things. ‘Cept for that time that I forgot that my .357 speedloaders were still in my carryon bag... The security dudes were completely humorless about it.

I think at least Frog and Blade are coming from Alabama... They’ll be driving and bringing their own horses. Not sure who else is confirmed.

The branch is just "resting" on the roof.

The whole situation has a certain Monty Python quality to it.

I’ve got telecons all this week. It is very difficult to concentrate; my mind keeps wandering off to that Nanowrimo plot. *sigh*
