Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
The scope itself is one of the earliest ACOGs, and is almost 20 years old. It's now on its third AR-15. The Docter is only a few months old, while the ARD and the mount have been around a bit longer.
Up until Vietnam, a 4x scope was considered perfectly fine for sniping out to 600 yards and beyond. Now 4x scopes are handed out to any grunt who's a decent shot.
But even a 4x scope with a wide field of view, and generous eye relief is like looking through a soda straw when a target pops up in the up-close-and-personal zone. The Docter is a way to add that capability in a small package to a regular scope. I guess I've just been spoiled by the Eotech.
Watch this space for some new ways to hang a small red dot like the Docter on rifle scopes. Docter makes dozens of mounts for handguns, but not much for rifle scopes. However, there is always the ingenious solution waiting to be discovered.
I'm going to be doing family stuff, and candy making, for the most part today, but I want to wish all you Hobbit Hole friends a most Blessed Christmas!!
Morning Winmag - that sounds like a close call. The hex were a big improvement over the philips now the torqux are even better. I think you have more than ‘a bit’ of skill in this arena. Glad it worked out for you.
And a Very Merry Christmas to you, Sirkit and all the family. OB & LSA

So soon? How were the roads? Glad you made it safely!!
I’m busy making cookies for tonight’s visit with our old neighbors; it’s become an enjoyable Christmas tradition.

The main roads were good. It was icy in the parking lot with patches of ice in front of the terminal. It’s 51 degrees here. :)
Miss Cat seems to be settling in pretty well this time. Good Kitty!
Heh, same here!
Oh! Devious green eyes!
Wrap? - gift bag, close, staple.
Remember batteries not included.
Merry Christmas to you, Corin and all the Stormhands. OB & LSA
Cue the music - ‘You’re a mean one, Mr. Grinch..’
I think it’s on tonight.
Unfortunately, no Christmas Vacation. “Can I freshen up your egg-nog, Eddie? Take you out in the woods...”
All of the trees around the PEC office building were lit up!
One of the trees was done up all in red lights...
Lots of the houses and businesses in town were lit up, too...
There were horse-drawn carriages to take people around to see everything...
And finally, the courthouse...
It was rather windy (and cold!) and we don't have the best camera for night-time pics, but these were there best that turned out. Merry Christmas y'all!
Oooh - pretty lights Bear! We just got back from a local tour here... downloading pictures to see if any came out. :~)
Hullo everyone!
Merry Christmas All!
Next year looks like a tough one, so let’s get an extra supply of Good Will!
Great picture g’nad...
Merry Christmas to you!
And Merry Christmas to you too, LCS! Good will toward all :~)
