Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

So, I've been thinking...
about making next year a complete sabbatical. Not only dropping choir/production, but dropping the counseling class and men's cancer ministry. Problem with the latter is that we're just getting started and I'm the de facto "leader." But there's a lot to be said for considering my emotional, spiritual and physical health. I hit 50 next year. Maybe it's time to take all of this seriously.
I find new aches and pains every day. That can't all be show related. Maybe it's time.
All that being said, I've given myself until after Christmas to decide for certain so I know I'm not just making an emotional decision when I 'm exhausted. So, there's that.
